Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndiaThere's no name on the building. It's difficult to enter the hostel for the first time. Later on once you have the codes it's easy. You have to put your own bedsheets and bed linen. It's just kept on the bed for you. 1 toilet+shower between 11 people in my dorm. No bedside organizer/small table for every bed. Some beds did not have a mini-lamp and charging point. No space for hanging clothes or jackets. Heaters were not working and window shades were also not closing. Bathroom door was a pain to lock every time! Overall the place needs more maintenance.
Great location - 5 min walking from Herculanium archaeological park and 10 min walking from Ercolano Scavi train station. Many eateries available in 10 min walking distance. 20 min walking from a small beach. Good connectivity for Vesuvius and Pompeii visits - better to stay here for these locations than Napoli. No crowd, noise and traffic as compared to Napoli. Clean bathrooms, beds, linen, kitchen, common area. Terrace - a great chilling place. Common room - many games and small bar + vending machine for snacks. Rosie the caretaker/manager was very friendly and helpful. Also offers an off the record good meal in a reasonable price.

– for no apparent reason, it was very empty when I was there ... there seemed to be almost no ypung travellers in Ercolano at this particular time. That's a pitty because otherwise this place could've been a busy, buzzy travellers hub.
– Amazingly decorated with love for details – Great for groups (nice bar area, great terrace where you can chill together) – Friendly staff and good location

IrelandShower set up mixed. A line of showers with curtainss. No lock or anything and either you come out wrapped in a towel and have to walk through the hallways to a toilet cubicle or try get dried inside the shower cubicle. Hang your clothes outside the curtain on a hook. Bit embarrassing as a female with bra etc hanging there and guys walking past and into next shower...privacy wasn't the best in my opinion
No breakfast. Just a last minute stay. As hostels go it seems good. I was in a mixed dorm. There was space to hang washing out on line, games in communal area and a bar.

NorwayIt is a bit far from the train station, not too far, but with heavy luggage it is a bit uncomfortable.
The mattrasses were clean and comfortable. The showers has good pressure and hot water. the place is generally clean. The terrace is a nice place to relax. It is not far from Naples by train, I think that is the only transportation, and the trains are a bit old, but it works. the couple that runs it comes by every morning and evening, so that is also the time they will check passports, and the time you can ask questions to the woman. She speaks several languages, but the husband does not. There is a lot of restaurants and cafes near by. and also several supermarkets. The kitchen has a gas cooktop and microwave.

South KoreaThe beds didn't have curtains, and the staff was irregularly present if you needed anything.
It was the perfect location to experience the beauty of naples in a safe neighborhood. It was a 20 minute train ride from the center, but it was so perfect that when i went to the center i found it a bit underwhelming in comparison to the hospitality and kindess of the people from ercolano. The hodtel was easy to access regardless of the time of day, and the rooms were spacious. There was also a veranda with tables to hang out on. Other people staying at the hostel were kind, it had a good atmosphere!

GreeceIts on the street so its noisy. If you can put the aircondition and close the windows is OK, but we had to keep the windows open and was quite noisy.
I liked the building, the comon areas (mostly the terrace), and most of the beds (some were older and , therefore, less comfy. Its very close to the bitch, where I went swimming, and to Herculano, the main arqueologican site of the place.

MexicoWould be nice to make other guests aware of being quiet at a certain point of the night, since travelers in Ercolano are usually there to catch a good rest and do early excursions in the morning.
I liked the disposition of the beds in the room, gave a good sense of space and privacy. Staff (David and Tom) were very kind and helpful. I liked that staff makes an effort to separate the trash!

New ZealandOnly drawback was that it states air-conditioning but there was no remote to turn it on. So with 10 people in a room and warm weather it was quite hot. And being on a busy road means keeping the windows open is also very noisy.
Facilities are really nice - modern, tidy and clean. Check in and out was easy. All locks are keypad locks so no worrying about keys etc. really enjoyable stay.

CroatiaThree level bunk beds, first time I saw that, it really isn't comfortable on that 3rd level. It's just another horrible idea how to put as many people possible in a small room which makes dorms very crowded,, only one bathroom/one sink for the whole hostel. Bathroom not clean.
Nice staff, they allowed late check-in and sent all the necessary information on WhatsApp.

ThailandI have difficulties to rate this place. For me it was a good solution, because I was sick and could stay there for several nights for 15€/night and had a room to myself, because no other women were there. If you're looking for a simple and cheap bed, this is a good option. If you're looking for a hostel, especially outside of the tourist season, it's not. There was no reception whatsoever. I had to send my ID via WhatsApp to a guy and got the infos, which was fine. Every evening this guy's mum came to the hostel to do 5 minutes of cleaning (if any). A few days in I talked to a 35 old man who seems to live in this place. He asked me if I'm alone in my room and why and if I want to spend time with him, because he's lonely. I told him that's inappropriate, since I'm alone in a hostel and also I look like I'm 25. He said he didn't understand and got obviously emotional. Another guy, who also seems to live there for the fishing season, offered me and an 18 year old other guy drugs. They also kept using and pissing all over the women's toilet (one), because it was closest to their room. I told this to the WhatsApp reception guy and he did not care at all. I told him I don't feel safe and that the rooms PIN are easy to figure out (literally the room number), but he told me it's no problem and to go to bed. Nothing in this hostel is functional. Not a single door or window, so at night it was very noisy and cold. The fridge didn't work, the oven didn't work, the washing machine was out of order, the guys took the two lighters I bought myself for the stove because the reception ignored my request for a functioning lighter. I used the mens shower because the others were more broken than anything else. We also had to text and beg for toilet paper and were out of it several times.

DenmarkYou need your own padlock for the locker, but they let you know beforehand.
Great location, 5min walking to Herculaneum and easy transport to Pompei, Vesuvio, and Naples. Very clean and welcoming place, with access to all you might possibly need - a hot shower, a well-equipped kitchen, and stores and bars nearby. The owner is also very friendly and easy to communicate with :)
