Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandIl’s not a problem, but you need a satnav to find your way along the narrow lanes to the Historical Suites. Nikos will meet if necessary on the edge of the old town.
The kindness and helpfulness of our host, Nikos. The ideal location, right next door to the cathedral. The baroque splendeur of our suite. The excellent breakfast.

Beautiful suite in an historic building. But our host was the real hidden gem here. Nikos was amazing! So helpful and continuously went above and beyond what he needed to do. We had an awesome stay. Great location also. Book this place, you won't regret it.

New ZealandTutto bene!
This unique villa is just incredible - we loved our stay here! It truly felt like stepping into and inhabiting another era for a few days. The attention to detail is marvellous, and I spent some time just admiring all the art and small things like the beautiful fine linen curtains in our bedroom, in a rich cream with a huge 50cm hand-stitched hem! The light through these was sublime. Lecce itself is gorgeous and the property is right in the heart of the old city. History, food, fun, shopping are on the doorstep. The host was so kind and hospitable, and generously shared recommendations and history, as well as providing any extra needs or queries during the stay. Luckily although the bathroom style was in keeping, it was modern and luxurious with plenty of room unlike some others we’d stayed at in the area. The bed and bedding were also very comfortable and of high standard of course. I recommend booking this apartment - it was certainly a highlight of our trip.

ItalyAbsolute DREAM location, property and host! Everything was exactly (if not better) than as pictured. The bnb is truly what it feels like to stay in a palace. Nikos was the perfect host - always available to answer questions and provide recommendations. He is passionate about the property and provides a nice history of the building upon arrival. Nikos went out of his way to pick us up from the rental car return that was outside of the historical city and then also gave us a ride to the train station upon our departure. Most hosts would never do these sorts of gestures, and it did not go unnoticed. The accommodations and breakfast were great - highly recommend! If you’re going to Lecce and this bnb is available, BOOK! You will not regret!

AustraliaOur only regret is we did not stay longer.
Nikos our host was most accommodating our arrival due to a train delay. He provided us with a map and gave us accurate advice on places to eat and visit. His friendly demeanour and informative conversation on Lecce was much appreciated. Our accommodation was excellent in every aspect. Our only regret was we only had 3 nights.

Staying in the suite was like being transported back in time, with unique historic features. The bathroom however was spacious, and modern with a luxurious shower. Niko was an amazing host, very informative and took delight in ensuring that we enjoyed our stay in Lecce. His help with parking arrangements and transporting our luggage was greatly appreciated on such a hot day. One of the most friendly and helpful hosts we have experienced in our many travels.

United KingdomLeaving.
Nikos the host could not have been more helpful. Provided lots of information about things to do and places to visit. The room was probably the nicest we've ever stayed in over 20 years of traveling around Europe. It retained over 200 years of history with original floors and ceilings. Absolutely fantastic breakfast. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you Nikos.

New ZealandBeautiful rooms decorated in the style of the historic old building. Wonderful original tiled floors, painted ceilings, and furniture but with a nice modern bathroom. Rooms were huge by comparison to other places we have stayed with large separate sitting room and separate bedroom. Nikos was an amazing host, explaining the history of the building and giving us tips on what to see, and restaurants. When we mentioned we were keen to find a beach he came up with suggestions and sent us bus timetables. The breakfast each morning was wonderful with fresh fruit, pastries, juice, tea, coffee, bread, jams and eggs! Value for money this beats anything on our 6 week trip.

The most delicious Pasticciotti in all of Italy are served for breakfast. Everything is very nicely arranged. The best staff reviews ever. Full attention to you from the moment you arrive until you leave. Gives lots of useful tips on where to go and what to see. I recommend this place for vacation. United KingdomAbsolutely nothing at all.
Absolutely everything, it was the best accommodation I had ever stayed in and I have been all over the world. The host Nikos was sublime, he was so attentive, but not intrusive, and went above and beyond at every opportunity. His son Georgios, who is 4, also loves you meet the guests. Nothing was too much trouble for Nikos. He is one of the nicest people you could hope to meet and he made our stay in Lecce first class. He is so knowledgeable about the local area and gives you all the detailed information regarding transportation, day trips, restaurants, bars etc. It is like having your own personal concierge. The breakfast was lovely and so fresh each morning and Nikos was very keen to make sure you ate exactly what you wanted. We mentioned that we liked croissants and they were there warm on the table the next morning. Nikos also made us breakfast at 5:45 on our last morning. The building is stunning and the photos do not do it justice. The presidential suite is beautiful with a large lounge area with a balcony overlooking the historic street and from the lounge leads to the bedroom, also with a balcony overlooking the street. The whole suite is decorated with historic furnishings and family heirlooms. There is also a large modern bathroom with leads from the bedroom. Lecce is a beautiful place to explore with its historic buildings and excellent choice of restaurants and bars. We also did day trips to Gallipoli by train, San Cataldo beach by bus and Otranto by bus. Otranto is a stunning place with crystal clear waters, historic alleyways, lovely independent shops and tempting local bars and restaurants. A must for a day trip. VVM Historical Suites is a must for anyone staying in Lecce, there are no words sufficient to describe how perfect it is.
