La Controra is a beautiful hostel for many reasons. The rooms are very large and comfortable, there are many bathrooms, the staff is kind and helpful, breakfast is great with some vegan options and, last but not least, there is lovely garden where you can relax after a long day visiting the city. The best choice in Napoli!

Just the area in general doesn't have good telephone signal for some parts. Depending upon what telecom service you have.

Common areas were great. Sleeping in a room full of strangers and no one snored. This was a great value and I’d do it again, the 9pm dinner and a drink special was excellent.

It was a bit difficult to find. I booked the bunk beds that have privacy curtains, and the rail of mine needed to be fixed cause it fell quite easily. Everything else was good.

Excellent breakfast, which is really good if you're starting a long day ahead (i.e. going to Pompeii), very close to metro station, and lovely space to stay. Really good to have so many nice bathrooms.

Cons: only turn on the heater in the bedroom at midnight and turn off in the morning. No heat in bathroom. Wifi is weak in bedroom.

Pros: the room is bigger than it seem with a bacony. 5 shared bathrooms outside. I stayed on a weekend but it wasn't crowded. They let guests stay hafl full in my room. Breakfast is provided

Well, I was second time in this hostel, second time 10 day... The hostel is amazing and peaceful hided island middle of Naples with extra helpful friendly staff... On another way, I left my hearth in that city...

The location is excellent in my opinion, you can walk to many things and it is a 5 min walk to the Salvator Rosa metro station on line 1. The staff here are excellent and they have a laundry machine and dryer available (7 euros for a wash and dry). The Breakfast is okay and is included in your price. They have a large kitchen for cooking. One of the best things about this hostel is the beautiful and relaxing courtyard.

Horrible caffe.

There are private bathrooms with the toilet several on the floor, that you can lock yourself, Breakfast from 7:30-10:00 in the form of a buffet in the garden. Very good scrambled eggs, juices, honey and jam, juice. Possibility of leaving luggage free of charge after check-out.

It took me a while to find the hostel from the metro Montesanto station, I ended up going up a lot of stairs in a maze like alleyways which was fun enough ! The hostel provided me with a thorough guide from another station upon booking though I happened to take different route :p

The receptionist was helpful and I liked the chill vibe. I appreciate that their breakfast was freshly prepared with variety of choice :) the location was also great, had the lovely evening stroll around the bustling area. Small stores and coffee shop, street food vendors are in handy distance :) super grateful for the luggage storage at the reception!

The shared kitchen was too small, and the WiFi and mobile network connection was poor in the room on the 2nd floor. I often needed to go down to the garden or living room to get a decent internet connection.

Very friendly and helpful staff, smooth check-in and check-out, clean rooms, a quiet neighborhood with nearby metro and bus stops, a good breakfast, and a spacious, open garden inside the building. The reception was open 24/7, but it would be really convenient to use a key instead of ringing the doorbell and waiting for someone to open the door every time we wanted to enter the building.

The room was really to basic for the price. We paid EUR 120 - EUR 100 per night. The shower had problems with the water drainage. It was not really clean due to the oldness of the room. Further we had only two power plugs. It was really hostal quality. So you should not see this hostal as a Selina or Viajero hostel & hotel concept but more like a real hostel with a great community but you also get the cleaniness of it.

The atmosophere in the hostel was the best. The volunteers and employees where great. Also prices of drinks and food was very good.

Two flights of stairs to get to the rooms, there is an elevator but it’s super slow so gotta take the stairs. The kitchen was good but it didn’t have some basics like dish soap and hand towels, which made for questionable hygiene.

Comfortable beds, good facilities. The free breakfast is really good, and the dimmer deal is good and also a great opportunity to meet fellow travelers. It’s a really friendly social hostel while still being quiet. I’m a digital nomad so I was also working some days and it was very comfortable to work there.
