Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The bathrooms always had really wet floors and the bottoms of the showers filled up. Also there was no stove or oven in the kitchen only a microwave.
Staff, common area and location are all fantastic. Very friendly and welcoming place

Toilet and shower small, luckily it was off-peak season with not too many guests staying there. However this is typical of older buildings. I'd say the worst part was that they shut everything (including switching off the WLAN or changing the code?) between check out and check in. Unfortunately there were no staff around half an hour before check out (I had waited 20 minutes prior to this but no one was to be seen) so I quickly ducked out to grab a coffee. When I returned just over 20 minutes later -- I was a tiny bit delayed because of the queue -- the whole building was locked up and I had to wait til 3pm to collect my luggage. Luckily I was able to change the time of my train to Florence but I got there a lot later than I wanted. I think someone should have been at the desk the entire time (apart from needing the toilet). Otherwise don't lock up until all guests checked out who are supposed to be checked out for that day.
Staff were nice. Good location close to tower (though quite far from train station).

They are very kind and comprehensive. They have free coffee, everything is very clean, there are hair dryers in all bathrooms and a nice terrace.

The beds were very comfortable, but the room was a bit cold. Get some warm clothes as pyjamas:) And the shower curtain could be replaced by a new one otherwise all was great
Absolutely great location - 5 min walk from Pisa tower. The room and bathroom were clean, and the staff was helpful and nice. I appreciate the free tea and coffee.

Like any city hostel with an airport, people come and go at all hours, but that’s just the experience of being in a hostel.
Fantastic location and staff. The staff were really helpful and friendly.

We were two adults travelling in pairs. My friend arrived a bit earlier than me and she could not get into the hostel even though the hostel mentioned that we could leave our luggage in the hostel before check in hours. My friend waited outside near an hour and wanted to contact the host but failed. At the time of checking in finally, the host was an old man with a very slow mobility. So we knew that we cannot demand much from him. Luckily, the host was changed to a young lady called Rey who was cheerful and helpful.
It's cqlosed to the Pisa Tower within 5 minutes walk. It provided all the basic facilities and the room and bed were clean and comfortable.

Noisy - The room is on the ground floor with window facing main road. You can hear pedestrians talking into the late night. The room is also next to reception and on busy evening check-in, you can hear lots of chattering.
The hostel is a short walk to Pisa tower and has many restaurants close by. It’s an easy 30 mins walk to the Pisa Centrale station.

I liked it. A bit tired and old fashioned decor but that adds to its charm.
Old-style hostel, lovely owner and staff, clean dorm room with sheets and en-suite bathroom. Nice kitchen/seating area and outside area to use if fine.

Bathroom was mouldy and beds were shaky.
The room was clean, it was nice to have a bathroom inside, the sheets were fresh, tarrace was nice. Super clise to the Leaning Tower.
