Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandThe bathroom had a damp smell and the bed was not comfortable (personal preference) When we arrived the church in front was having a function and was very hard to find a car park.
Easy check in late at night. Handy videos they send to find the place and room. Good for one night in Pisa, car parking available. Was able to leave the bags the next morning and collect later.

MexicoWe loved our stay, however coffee or tea amenities in the kitchen would help to make it perfect!!
The place is unique and cosy, perfect for quiets stay. The room and the house in general were clean and comfortable. The bus station is just crossing the street to visit the city.

United KingdomThere is no air conditioning which made for an extremely uncomfortable sleep. The room had a fan but this was not enough to keep us cool.
The hosts were really helpful and rooms are spacious.

New ZealandWould have liked a fridge in the room as main fridge in common area is not allowed for overnight use.
Very close to the main attraction which was the Tower of Pisa. Easy to find the property. The instructions to access our room were easy to follow. Bottles of water were free and appreciated as it was hot.

AustraliaCommunication was lacking and almost always ended in CAPS with exclamation marks. We were reminded no less than 5 times that check out was BEFORE 10am. Direction to accom was misleading and only after messaging and ringing did we get a pindrop to property and to be told it happens all the time. Read notes carefully : no air con and ceiling fan provided was useless on a very hot 2 nights. Barking dog next door that hated people walking passed (you could not avoid it) or even if we looked out our window.
Liked the idea of the property being attached to a church and on a river. It was clean and rather large.

LithuaniaSince the room is designed in a chamber of the palace, it is a huge echo both in the room and from the corridor. And going to the bathroom and toilet was quite inconvenient. Each drop is like a separate symphony. There is no TV (there would be an annoying echo :) Kettle was given on request. The place is outside the city, although it is only 2 kilometers to it, but it is not near the road path, I had to walk through stubble to avoid getting confused with cars. There is a supermarket 500 meters away, but you have to walk on the edge - it's dangerous. The hotel's very long automatic messages were annoying
Very clean, tasteful interior, adapted to the architectural heritage, a unique experience to spend the night in a cell-type room of historical heritage. The staff is polite and helpful. Peace and quiet

United KingdomIl Casale Toscano was lovely. Easy to find and simple to check into. The rooms were clean and the area quite quiet - which I like. The location is good, next to a river which was peaceful. I didn’t venture to Pisa but I know it would have been easy to reach the centre of the city quite quickly.

United KingdomLocation was not easy to reach. Even though it looked like the place was really close to Pisa, we were struggling to reach there at night as there was no public transport available and taxis were all busy and hard to get.

New ZealandIt's a longish hot walk to Piza along roads with no paths. There is a Bus stop outside the place with a slightly erratic bus service and slightly un-helpfull drivers. The bus goes the opposite way from the hotel for a start but ends up at Piza or in the Town near the station. Buy Bus tickets before your board at a shop in the Station or some other shops. If you don't have a ticket you could get finned by the Bus Mafia 42 Euros like we did.
Fantastic host. Very welcoming and informative. He arranged a Taxi on our last day for quite early morning. Lovely quiet place with no TV. Our host had chilled bottled water freely available and supplied coffee and some treats for breakfast which he doesn't have to.
