The location for Via Francigena walkers is perfect, the room is very comfortable and the host is super friendly and helpful. She even provided a very early breakfast so I could make the walk into Rome in good time.

The host TIZIANA and her husband were so nice and kind!!! I went to the Rome for 2days and there was a not much of transportation to get to Rome but the first day she care about me and second day I left my room at 8:30 but she gave me some snacks for the breakfast! It was sweet and kind! Also my last day I had a sightseeing in the village that I stayed there were so cute and history village. During the breakfast, we had a great time to have a conversation! They don’t speak English not much and I don’t speak Italian but we still could communicate and I really enjoyed to hear that history of the this village from her husband! The room also clean and comfortable! It’s a little bit not a convenient to access the Rome but I was so happy that I chose here! I had a good memory there! If you want to have an experience of that you should stay here!!! Grazie Tiziana!!!!

Gorgeous little property in the historic district. Very picturesque. Our hosts were lovely, very helpful and provided a full breakfast for us. The studio was clean and comfortable with air conditioning and a comfy bed. The location was perfect right in town.

Wonder place, amazing hosts. We spent here only one night on our way from Rome to Florence, and everything pas perfect. When we arrived they greeted us with fresh fruits! The room had AC, and we were also supplied with bug repellents (much need around this time of year). All in all - great stay, amazing hosts.

Our host was so kind and welcoming. We had a delicious breakfast on the terrace and the overnight stay was right on the pathway for the Via Francigena which made continuing the next day so much easier. Our stay was like ‘a home away from home’. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

We were totally welcomed and felt very relaxed. Our host was very attentive. The ambience of the outside area and our room was warm and comfortable. We were provided with everything we needed and helped with recomodation and advice with directions. The breakfast was generous, and the hot moka coffee appreciated. We arrived tired and blistered and left refreshed. We continued straight onto Via Francigena, though we would have liked to stay longer.

Having to leave it after only two nights’ stay.

Utterly charming, delightful place to stay in the heart of what must surely be one of the most exquisite of tiny ancient hamlets on the outskirts of Rome. The hosts are of a character to complement perfectly their house and its surroundings - generous, beautiful manners and immensely hospitable. This is a jewel of a place in every regard.

Nothing, this was my favourite place to stay on the VF by far

Solo traveller on the VF and this was the perfect location. Lovely terrace full of plants, large clean bedroom. Excellent breakfast spread offered in the morning. The host gave me the nicest welcome with cold water and fresh watermelon, and offered an amazing breakfast spread in the morning. I really would recommend you stay here either whilst on the Via Francigena or if in Formello for any other reason. Cannot recommend highly enough

Everything was great

Everything was wonderful…..location. room with a private entrance off the terrace, quiet, great hosts, very welcoming. We enjoyed an excellent dinner at La Cantina which is just a few metres away. Lovely breakfast on the terrace.

I have nothing bad to say about La Scaletta.

Great hosts, clean room and bathroom and a great breakfast. I had to go to Rome for a day and stayed here as an alternative the day before, so I drove my car and stoped at formello to stay the afternoon and night with my girlfriend the night before, knowing that we were just 30 minutes away from Rome the next day. Would love to go back, I would recommend la scaletta to anyone.

it’s not that I didn’t like it but we did need help finding the place. once you knew it was great an near everything.

It was our own little casita surrounded with plants and flowers on the patio. there were lots of blankets if needed and even a iron if needed. The hostest was very sweet. wish we could have talked more to her, little English from her, no Italian from us. she even gave us some bus tickets.

The hosts are wonderful. The room was nice, roomy, clean and comfortable. Couldn’t ask for anything more. The breakfast was a good start to our day of hiking the Via Francigena.
