Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All very good
Comfortable and close to the main attractions. Friendly, helpful advice from the hostess on times of airport bus... the first one 3.40am but just 2 mins away and costing just €6. The lift is also good.

Booking.com should change something: Owners should be forced to state, if the breakfast is served at the very place or in a nearby café with a voucher. "Breakfast included" can be often missleading. Imagine a family with children relying on getting a propper breakfast in the morning.
Friendly host. Hotel in the heart of Palermo, still quiet at night (except some electronic devices making some annoying noise all the time).

Super small room, there wasn’t even space for opening the luggages. Ugly view of the inside of the building. Expect noises starting from 7 am from renovation work on the building.
The position was pretty central and the staff was helpful and kind.

Thin walls between the room, but it was still ok 😊
Perfect location, our hosts were kind with great communication, we were able to reach them each time we needed. The room was perfect for us.

Everything was great! Nice room, clean and cozy, just like in the photos. Great location, close to historic center and sea port. The host was very helpful, gave us various advice how to get around the city. Highly recommend!

The room was too small for th price paid. The bathroom is tiny without proper hangers for the 2 towels.

Having to change Airport from Catania to Palermo but that had nothing to do with my host! Haha!
My host was excellent. She actually met me and guided me to the location. The premises was so central to everything and I walked to Prada the following day to get the bus to the aorport. Clean and secure.

6th floor, while not feeling for taking the elevator considering the vast amount of power failures in the area.

Overall, I liked everything. My one piece of feedback would be to install a wi-fi signal amplifier. Sometimes my computer lost the wi-fi connection when I was in certain corners of my room (room 3, down the hall a little bit).
Extremely clean. I liked that. I also liked the location - it was in the nicer part of town. Breakfast is via a voucher for a local cafe around the corner - I liked that because the quality of the cafe was very good.

Well there was some communication problems. First of all i checked before i got there that it was a terrace, which i was promised it was. However i got at best a french veranda 30 cm deep. Secondly i was offered transport from the airport for 50 euro. I asked if that was total or one way , and told total. Well had to pay 50 euro each way. Thirdly the breakfast cafe they had an agreement with were untrustworthy, I paid them 10 euros to get ice in my stay. Already second time i asked for ice i couldnt get it because it was "impossible" , eventhough i physically saw the ice. Personally i mean that a hotel i live on shouldnt accept theire customers being treated this way.
Well lets take the positive first. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Its clean and almost spotless. The rooms are reasonable sized. The placing is good to be in Palermo. There were good communication before going there so you get all information you need.
