Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MontenegroGypsies living in the rooms with strange odour . Covers on bed were not washed ever since they bought it. Its enough to wash it once a month at least. Everything is super old and they dont invest in hostel not a penny.
The stuff was partialy nice and they moved me from one room to other. Clean sheet and pillow case. Amazing location.

ItalyMy bed didn’t feel comfortable and I couldn’t sleep all night. There was only a small blanket in my bed which was not enough to feel comfortable during winter days despite the room was warm.
The place was cheap and clean. The location is very good.

SwedenThe wifi did not work inside the room. The staff behaved very rudely. Firstly, they provided us with the wrong key and we entered a different room. For this reason they shouted with us,though they made the mistake. By the way,the room was windowless and confined. The kitchen was also very small.
There is an individual charging port beside every bed.I found the room clean. There was a particular locker for every person staying in the room and people should bring a small lock to keep their things safely in the locker.

ItalyPerhaps I didn’t stay there at its best moment. The kitchen had a leak, causing it to flood, and there were few utensils available. The bathroom outside the room was always dirty. I want to clarify that this wasn’t the hostel’s cleaning staff’s fault, as they cleaned (and cleaned very well) every day. It was an issue caused by the guests. If you wanted to use a kitchen utensil, you had to check it carefully because sometimes they were put away dirty. And one night, a guest got upset and started yelling in the middle of the night.
The room was excellent, and so was the bathroom (the one from my room).

CanadaCons: a couple of big things to consider are one, locks with longer bendy tops don’t actually lock the (rather small) lockers, you need solid smaller padlocks, and two, it is NOT possible to lock the door to the room. NO keys or cards. We talked to the front desk and were told that this is legal, but not so sure as it’s a huge safety and security risk, especially as a woman. The woman’s only dorm is farthest from reception, anyone can enter. The front desk said that a new card system was being installed soon so that key cards will be used, so I would CALL and ensure this has happened prior to staying if this is something of importance to you.
Pros: receptionist was welcoming and let us check in early which was very appreciated. Clean areas, individual bed lights + plug ins, and good temperature during the night. Affordable as well.

IrelandThey didn't give us a towel. Beds were very close to each other so the room wasn't spacious at all. The glass of the shower was hard to close which caused the wet floor.
Location was great. Heater was working properly.

BelgiumThe kitchen is smashed in a narrow space it’s impossible to use it, I didn’t find that corner particularly well maintained, and there was just very little available at the kitchen. I think there was not even a bowl. The locker in my room was broken. And I had to share the room with a sick girl and I got sick myself :(
I found the location okay. It’s close to a metro station and the metro brings you right to the center.

FranceThe doors have no locks so anyone can walk in. They provide lockers but you need to bring your own lock. Beds were a bit squeaky and had no curtains. It was very cold at night so needed to sleep with socks and my winter coat on making it uncomfortable. Only one shower working on the 1st floor for 40-50 people since the other one had no hot water.
Excellent central location, about a 30 min walk to the duomo and 1 min walk to the metro. Female dorm of only 6 beds with lockers was good.
