Our shower was a bit small. Sometimes lost water pressure in the shower so had to wait with full head of shampoo! Breakfast wasn’t great

The location is perfect. Links to trains and ferries, both 5 minute walk. The rooms are functional and kept clean. Our children had a triple room. They had a large bathroom with a view of the lake.

The location was excellent. Easy walking distance from the train station. The check-in clerk was very sweet and friendly. He helped us with our luggage and showed us to the room. Would definitely stay here again and a great value for the price.

- Our room is too small to accommodate 1 queen bed and 1 extra bed. The length of the beds almost fit to the length of the room. My friend who took the inner bed can not walk through to the door easily. The room and furniture are not quite clean. - No parking space at the property

The room was small and sparsely funished

The location was very close to the train and ferry, which made traveling around the lake very easy. It is a stones through away from the busy "centre" where we saw a Queen tribute show.

No real complaints, for the price we thought the room was good.

We were based in the nearby partner hotel Beretta not Montecodeno which was easy to get to by train, a short walk from Varenna train station. We had the family room which was a good size with a balcony and close to the lake, and although basic it was fine for us. Good breakfast. Although it is over a bar, the bar wasn't open late so no noise at night, apart from Saturday night when there was some music late from an adjacent property.

Breakfast was cold or empty. we arrived at 9.30 the first day and at 9am the second day and both times the buffet was empty. This did not however ruin our stay as we went out for breakfast. The room was at an affordable price and we only stayed 2 nights so the fact it was basic was not a problem.

The elevator is very slow and extremely slow. Mist if the times we had to climb using the stairs because the elevator won’t come.

The size of the room, location and the cleanliness is really the strong point of this hotel.

I came here for work, all what I wanted was a cosy bed and nice breakfast. here are some points about this stay: - i asked for a cup of hot water to make my own tea outside the breakfast hours and I was told to go to a cafe instead - all three mornings the hot breakfast was late, in one of then the whole breakfast was late, I almost missed my train - the noise on that street is too loud during the night, you can hear every car passing by - the bed keeps shifting all the time if your pillow is to the wall. the bed is not attached and is very light so you cannot sit in it and work or watch a movie if your back is pressing the wall - the bed start shifting away.

very close to ferry and train station, breakfast is good (when it comes on time, not in my case). the two things that I liked the most: - the staff is very friendly, especially the man in charge if things and the young boy in the reception - the internet is very good which is unusual for Varenna.

The bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful with many offerings:eggs, cheeses, meats, pastries, juices, etc. the location was very convenient to the boat ferry stop. Restaurants were close by. The room and bathroom were very clean.

I didn’t like the bathroom at all. It took forever to dry and towels/swimwear I kept there also stayed wet. Bed and the pillow are not the most comfortable. Room is okay, but for 3 stars I expect more.

Location is great. Easy access to harbor for ferries to visit other coasts. All tourist attractions at Varenna are close to hotel. Reception service was good and they took luggage to safe before check in. Room also has safety locker and the door to apartments stays locked all time so it feels safe. Air conditioner included. Breakfast included (although a bit basic). Pets are allowed.

Nothing really - maybe it’s time to move away from tiny bottles of shampoo etc and although there was fresh fruit at breakfast, ideally I would have liked a fruit salad or some prepared fruit if possible.

A very acceptable affordable hotel in a handy location for the station and the waterfront and ferry. The staff were lovely and gave us a quiet room because I was worried about noise. When we were there it was very peaceful with no street noise. The hotel was sparkling clean, the bed was comfortable and breakfast was good.

Moved to Hotel Beretta and the staff were a bit off, never acknowledged me much. Stood in cafe/bar waiting to get served for over 10 minutes, just gave up and left.

I paid for 3-star but got 1-star facility. Shower door was broken. I reported it but was told it will be fixed a week later. There was no safe in the room. I was told I could keep my valuables in the hotel safe.

Room was spacious. Bed was comfortable. Balcony with view of the mountains. Breakfast was adequate served warmly by Rose. Staff was courteous and helpful.

motorcycles racing and reving motors on the street. your feet are right on top of the shower ledge when using the toilet but not a big deal.
