Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Smaller than photos. The manager had a bad attitude, from giving me sheets for my 3-year-old son to letting me know that I should pay for breakfast even though he hadn't eaten. The area is ugly. At the entrance of the hotel there are homeless people, and it is not possible to leave the auro nearby. If you go, I know that you can't leave the car at the door to unload your suitcases.

## Check-In Difficulties Upon arrival at the hotel, there seemed to be a miscommunication regarding the advertised parking availability. The front desk was unattended, and you were approached by someone who did not appear to be a hotel employee, advising you to wait. ## Concerning Incident The owner reached out to explain that a concerning incident had occurred in the nearby piazza, requiring police presence and causing disruptions. Due to safety protocols, you were unable to complete the check-in process at that time. ## Owner's Correspondence You mentioned having correspondence from the owner acknowledging the situation. If you feel it is necessary to provide additional context or evidence, you are welcome to share those details. However, I trust that the hotel will address any issues professionally and work towards a resolution.

The room and the interior of the hotel generally were both dated and shabby. The room had an unpleasant odour of stale tobacco. The breakfast was a little disappointing as it lacked the wonderful pastries and focaccias that are typical of the bars and pasticcerias throughout the comune of Genova. Furthermore, the coffee was from a self service machine.
The location is great as it is easy walking distance from the railway station, and the port as well as the labrinth of alleyways that make for urban exploration of the centro histórico. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly. Parking was provided close by for a reasonable cost.

Typical tourist hotel under new management, trying hard to offer quality service. The hotel is nice and some rooms are being renovated, basic but clean. During my first night the weather in Genoa had turned chilly but the bed was only made up with a sheet and cover, and during the night felt cold. On the closet were only two single blankets, not a double one. The communication about the breakfast made it seem that it was included. Overall it was a good stay, even comfortable. I liked the location as it was not at the center of the old town but nearby the train station and metro and bus stations, on a nice square with trees. Noise was not bad at night and I could sleep easily the two last nights.

Lack of shampoo and liquid hand wash in the bathroom.
Location was very convenient to the dock where we needed to board a cruise ship; we could easily walk there from the hotel with our luggage. The room was adequate, without being luxurious or excessively appointed. The shower and its controls were unusual to our eyes and hands, but the lack of shampoo in the bathroom was surprising and disappointing. Breakfast was a tasty European breakfast, as was reasonable to expect, although not what we were used to.

Expensive for the quality it was. Very old fashioned, mould in bathroom, dust on all surfaces. Lots of people just 'hanging around' at entrance and so my children felt a little unsafe.

Our air-conditioning did not work. I asked for a fan from the lady at the front desk.. idk if she was confused but said we had a window wall type AC Unit. We had to open the windows all night and listen to traffic and it's kinda shady area at night. We were up several floors. They could improve the Air-conditioning.

The beds were small and hard. The shower was tiny and the shower head wouldn't stay on the mounting bracket. The elevator was very small and you still had to manage some stairs. I would not recommend this property if you have mobility challenges.
This is a no frills hotel, but the staff were very friendly and spoke English, the rooms were clean, there was air conditioning and free wifi, and it is right next to the cruise port and train station (we did not hear any train noise during our stay).
