Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesNo doors in the sleeping quarters. It’s super loud with people in & out of the restroom, talking loud, and going to the lockers. Even the light shines through into the bedroom. It was difficult sleeping with all the noise. And I didn’t realize the room I picked was coed so I also had to deal with a male that was snoring.
The lockers with a key. Charging station next to the bed. Large kitchen with lots of seating.

PortugalThe beds could use some curtains for privacy, like the way they have on trains.
The employees were kind, polite, and very helpful. The location was excellent. The property was beautiful and rather elegant. The facilities were very nice and well kept.

United StatesOnly small towel provided, could buy towel and soap kit however. Wasn’t bad, just need to prepare (bring soap too!)
Property was in an excellent location, staff was friendly as were other guests. Facility was clean, locker for luggage was very nice (could fit roller carry on suitcase and backpack in there). Overall stay was very comfortable and would come back! Great price as well! In a cool old monastery too

United StatesThere was no soap in the bathrooms and no trash cans in the bathrooms. If you had a sanitary item, you had to walk it out of the stall to an open trashcan near the showers.
The staff was very helpful and I liked that we had lockers that could fit suitcases with locks that were included in our stay. I felt very safe the entire time I was there.

United StatesThey definitely need a better system for your room keys. They make you leave your room key at the front desk everytime you leave the hostel and you pick it up when you get back, however they do not ask questions or verify that it's your room key. Because of this, they gave my key to someone else, but they didn't remember who. This makes it easy for someone to steal your stuff because along with the room key is an attached key to your locker. Additionally, the receptionist wasn't the nicest and definitely seemed annoyed whenever any of my friends had a question. Definitely could be cleaner.
This place is an old monastery so it was an incredibly cool experience staying here as the place had beautiful art on the ceilings and walls, and a beautiful garden! You get so much space to yourself, like a little loft with a side table to put your things and an outlet. The personal lockers you get are huge and they have outlets inside of them for you to charge things while you're away! The location itself is also great and in walking distance to basically everything.

GermanyThe rooms didn't have curtains. So it was quite bright in the room in the morning :/ Also negative: When I arrived there was a long queue for checking-in. When you want to go out, you have to leave the keys at the reception.
It is only a few minuted walking from the train station and also close to the historic centre - the river is just in front of the door. I liked that the rooms had bathroom ensuite and not in the hallway. Also the top bunks were nice with the wooden stairs! The courtyard and the building itself are beautiful.

United KingdomThe shared kitchen was always dirty which is I know is not fault of the hostel itself just grubby people, perhaps could have been cleaned by staff throughout the day. The fridge was also too small for the amount of rooms and people staying.
The hostel was in a fab location, super central and close to a supermarket as well as in a beautiful building! The rooms were clean and quiet and the outside area was great for breakfast and evening meals.

Netherlandsmaybe i'd provide the lower bed with curtains and include a towel in the price, not a standard procedure everywhere but well appreciated.
Nice location, 24h reception is a plus and the bed structure is sturdy and not noisy, not always the case in hostels. I stayed one night and the room totally met my expectations: even if it was a prettty big room there was a separation every 1 or 2 bunk beds, therefore privacy was well taken care of!.

AustraliaKitchen needs more of everything plates cutlery pots Hotplates didn't all work. The energy saving hotplate needed instructions as many people didn't understand it. Breakfast was coffee or tea and a croissant. If fruit and cereal that would be a winner as croissant was fresh cooked with jam or nutella. Mosquitos are bad. Drains smell also. This is not a criticism as they seem new at the game and can be a 10 with some effort.
Great concept using church grounds and buildings. Very tranquil feel. Bed layout for upper bunk gr8

SingaporeThe little wooden block that hooked on togather with the locker and door keys was annoying because it will knock onto the locker door whenever you tried to lock or open the locker, which causing lots of noise.

TurkeyThe room was extremely cold! It is better to take slippers (the floor was cold as well) and long sleeves pajamas:) I expected to have a curtain in my bed, but nobody did. May be uncomfortable to some, as it was for me
-I really like the place! The hostel was placed inside of the ancient? church, so the passages were really really stunning! with frescoes on the walls The staff communicated with me a lot and always were accurate in answering my questions. The girls in the kitchen were nice, always gave me 2 cups of coffee during breakfast

PolandIt was a bit dusty, bathroom wasnt too clean, the lockers are extremely small and make lots of noise when opening, they should exchange them.
Quite a lot of privacy for a hostel thanks to how beds are arranged. I could easily change my clothes on the bed without anyone seeing. But value for money considering they have breakfast and super good location is definitely a big advantage compared to other places around. Big bonus for beautifiul patio.

PhilippinesAll is well. There is no towel provided. The hostel should have provided complimentary towels. They need to improve on this. Atleast the towels. For a tavelers points of view if you know your are in a sharing hostel with 24 people in it. Do not expect that it will be the most quiet place. Do not expect the smell will be good. Its not the hostels fault anyway. Make the most of the stay.
The reception team are nice! All the people there. The hostel is in monastery church. So it was really nice. Comfy vibe. The beds are comfy. The hostel is nice. You can use the kitchen to cook. To eat. To socialize. You can use the refrigerator. There is space for smoking outside the garden.
