Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BelgiumA quirky hotel but once you get used to it, you will really appreciate it. The hosts, especially Annette, are wonderful, friendly and will make you feel at home. The rooms may not be the most modern but very clean. Location is simply perfect.

United KingdomIt is quite a climb to the 2nd floor entrance once you find the entrance and right bell. Won't suit everybody as all old fashioned - real turn in the lock keys! Rooms are OK size but not large. Opening the key operated fridge was a knack. Can suffer from road and people outside noise - tradeoff for view of ruins where Julius Caesar was assasinated in our case. Back rooms probably little or no noise = atmosphere.
Quirky, quite hidden, small hotel. Entrance is on 2nd floor of an around 300 years old building on a large plaza right in the centre of Rome. Has many old original features. No breakfast room! Instead a fridge full of lots of fresh food stuffs, drinks, a shelf full of a range of tinned foods and salads, a bowl of fresh fruit, various drinks, and disposable (some recycleable) bowls, plates & cups. Espresso machine and plenty of coffee. Need more, just ask! We used it for both breakfast and some lunches. Frescoes on the walls, original beams, like stepping back a couple of centuries. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lots buses and taxis outside.

United KingdomAll staff were friendly and helpful. Our room had everything we needed including shaving kits (very useful for female, light travellers!) The hotel was 10 mins walking distance from the Pantheon and Travestere with other attractions easily accessible. The pizzeria below serves freshly made pasta, a great place to eat and so close to your very comfy bed (and massage chair). If you want ultra modern, this isn't for you. If you enjoy a quirky, cosy atmosphere this is the hotel for you.

AustraliaWe were on the third floor no lift of course. Not a problem for us but maybe not suitable for elderly.
Lots of snacks and continental breakfast in room. A massage chair and foot massager too but didn’t use. This was the only chair in the room as we had a triple. We weren’t in the room much and only stayed 1 day but it would have been cramped if we had stayed longer. Double glazing on windows cut out the street noise. Perfect location for exploring and transport to Termini.

United StatesLocation can’t be beat. Walking distance to all major sites, also next to a set of bus lines and a taxi stand. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Noise canceling windows blocked out city sounds so we could sleep. Rooms quite small. Like being on a ship. Plenty of snacks for any time of day included.

CanadaHotel Barrett exceeded our expectations - from the look of the Hotel (coolest hotel I've stayed in), the incredibly helpful staff, the offerings of the room (every snack you can imagine AND an in-room massage chair - the smartest thing ever when you spend 12hrs of walking) and the location, you can't go wrong :)

United StatesChallenging to find the entrance upon arrival. Necessary to call desk to have security gate opened. No elevator to get up to third floor. Leave key at desk when going out.
Friendly staff. More than adequate supply of a very wide variety of food and drink that came with the price of the room. Sufficient to picnic in room if don’t want to go out. Very advanced shower, but very limited space inside.

We recently stayed at the Hotel Barrett during our trip to Rome friends. The room was uniquely decorated with a great view overlooking ruins. The refrigerator was well stocked with a variety of items. The coffee machine and variety of coffees was amazing. They could have done better with adding fresh bakery items instead of packaged. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location.
