Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Shortly before my arrival, I received instructions on how to check in and was asked to provide my personal information. The information was very extensive and confusing for me. The instructions for parking were also not clear to me at first. (The accommodation is in the centre, i.e. in the ZTL area) I should have printed out a document to drive to the accommodation. Logically, this was no longer possible for me as we were already on the road. But when you arrive in Montalciono, everything is less complicated than it seems at first.
The room was furnished with great attention to detail. The location is very central and the view over Tuscany is stunning. We really enjoyed the breakfast, the quality of the food was very high. You can get a parking card for the public car park from your accommodation. (4 euros for 24 hours)

keep in mind that access by car close to the location is not possible and there's no elevator if you have heavy luggage
the location is wonderful and the rooms are really nice and cozy and the beds are extremely comfortable. I'm sorry we were unable to stay longer. the breakfast was great and the staff extremely helpful and you can get a nice discount for parking as well

Steep stairs and maybe more specific details re how to find it. It's just a bit obscure - although right there.
Very comfortable, nicely appointed rooms - small but totally adequate, lovely view, terrific breakfast arrangements, and excellent location - although lots of vertical stairs to get there.

Everything was perfect! It is set back (but so close) to one of the main streets and is easily accessible but beautifully quiet. Just a couple of minutes from the car park it is a great location. The staff are all SO lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was a lovely range of local pastries and meats and a fantastic coffee.

This was our second stay at Scalette di Piazza B&B. It is located in the centre of town with a view over the central piazza. Rooms are comfortable and breakfast is delicious.

It was supposed to be a coffee-maker in the room. It was not. We prefer having our coffee in bed before putting on clothes. If I knew I would not have booked this. And it would be nice to have a chance to buy some refreshments when we came late

Great location in the heart of Montalcino, with restaurants and wine tasting nearby. Rooms were comfortable and we had a room with an amazing view. Good breakfast in the morning. You can hear the church bells throughout the night so if you are a light sleeper best to use the earplugs provided.

The location was right in the centre of the old town. Easy to drop off the luggage with the car and park it a bit further for the night. Would recommend the parking pass for €4 a day. The breakfast was also very good had had great options to choose from.

The view, very easy self checkin, good coffee.
The placement is absolutely perfect. Out of the windows in the dinning area you can see miles away over the hills. Gorgeous view!

There are quite a few steps to the property. Not recommended if mobility is an issue, otherwise everything else is great!

Difficult to find parking spot nearby... but it is not a big problem, anyway.

Nestled in the heart of the town, it offered romantic vibes and breathtaking views of the Tuscan countryside right from our room - truly the perfect wake-up call. Parking was a long distance away WiFi signal was marginal Television did not have english language option or ability to connect streaming options like NetFlix

Was a little hard to access, free parking is a 10 mins walk away and you can't drive up the street. But it can't be helped, it's an old town. It's the price you pay for a central location!
Really beautiful flat, great view, comfortable and well furnished.
