Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyLack of private transport but there's a bus stopping next to the hotel.
This hotel is nested in a spectacular location. There are parts of of the building and rooms which need to be renovated, but the view from your room when you wake up is priceless. I would go back there anytime and recommend it for special occasions.

DenmarkOld furniture , the hotel really needs a revamp and the cleaning can improve. I mean, that shower cabin is so old and useless. However, the beds were comfortable. The hotel is very far from the center / 40 min walking ( uphill) to get to a supermarket or to the restaurants :/. They tell you about bus 12 or 13 which stop in front of the hotel , but the buses never arrive in good times. If you order a cab - the front desk is telling you 10 euros and the cab driver is asking you 15! It’s outrageous how often they add extra euros for everything! The best for me was the water taxi ( 5 euros ) , you’re in Ischia Ponte in 5 min. Ask for the extra charge when you check in, to not have surprises as I had. At the check out, they told me I had to pay 15 euros for city tax, cos I booked with booking. com Go figure!
The view from the room was amazing. Both the receptionists and people working in the restaurant are friendly and helpful. However, 1 or 2 understand proper English!

IrelandThe air conditioning is a problem as it’s centrally controlled and there’s nothing you could do to control the temperature and in summers it was pretty to challenging for a peaceful sleep at night or even during day time you can’t even stay in to beat the heat because the rooms were not cool enough. We had a beautiful sea view room but we had to keep the curtains closed the whole time to keep the room a bit cooler because the AC was disappointing. We did ask the reception to come and check but there was nothing done for it. It was sad because you come for a relaxing vacation and these little things upsets the whole experience unfortunately. It’s an old hotel so we didn’t expect super modern facilities but there are definitely things that could be improved to make the stay more comfortable like AC and better toiletries
The sea access, location, the view the properly itself is beautiful and very serene. Absolutely loved it.

United StatesNothing.
The views were amazing! The bus lines numbers 12 and 13 stopped right in front of the hotel. The wardrobes and furniture were classic inlaid wood from Sorrento. The bathroom tiles were beautiful and unique. Nice friendly staff.

United StatesNot all stuff was friendly and you have to pay for beach towels everyday. Restaurant was good but overpriced.
Location of the hotel is gorgeous. Hotel itself is cute but a bit old. I had a beautiful room but my friends were not as lucky and had a terrible rooms some with no widows at all just entry door from outside or in the basement where is very humid and smell like public pool even if there are better rooms available. But overall the location and the views make it up for all the flaws.

United KingdomDidn’t feel very welcomed as a young solo female traveller/non Italian speaker. The facilities and hotel in general is quite old. I stayed out of peak season and paid a discounted rate but I wouldn’t want to be paying much more… breakfast was very average also. All facilities outside were very run down

ItalyI would say the property should not be 5 stars. the staff was so friendly and lovely it really compensated some things that were not the best: the breakfast was a bit poor, we had a cockroach in our bathroom and not having a private balcony or full time attending on the beach (every time we wanted something we had to climb all the stairs up to reception) for that price was a bit disappointing. overall I think it was all just because the property was understaffed.
the view was outstanding and the room was lovely! the staff was great and our room always tidy. I went home completely relaxed.

United StatesThe front desk staff was not friendly or helpful at all. And the cleaning staff stole a silver bracelet I left out on the table.
The view from the upper level of the hotel was amazing. Unfortunately, the only room with a king bed was on the ground floor, so the view wasn't as great.

SwedenUpon arrival at the set check-in time we had to wait an additional two hours for our room to be ready. We were told at check-in that their concept was “bed and breakfast” which is of course a different story than the 4 star hotel we booked. However I believe we got lucky with the cost at booking and I think the price reflected a more simple standard, especially for Ischia in August.
Beautiful location, although slightly isolated with sparse buses. We had a simpler room (not portrayed in the pictures :) however everything worked perfectly and the shared terrace was lovely. Simple but sufficient breakfast.

AustraliaThe check in process upon arrival, the confusion from two men in particular with no English speaking ability and the deceptive room photos in comparison to the booking made. We were ready to walk and book another hotel, not comforting with 2 young children and having travelled all morning and excited to check in for 5 days. After strong discussions we settled on a suitable room

United Arab Emiratesit’s a very nice location, but the hotel is under resourced. so simple things take lots of time. wouldn’t recommend this if you’re looking for a relaxing resort style stay. if you just need somewhere to sleep in a nice location but will travel the island during the day, this is great for you.

ItalyThere should be a sign at the hotel entrance saying where the reception is because once you get in, you don't know where to go. There is something weird about the management which we really don't understand! Reception is more than awful. I booked a delux room with sea view and balcony and I ended up in a basement room till next day when they moved me to the right room I booked with no proper apology or a simple discount or any hint of respect that I tolerated their mistake. No iron, No simple mininar, which we usually find in any terrible motel! The fridge was not working. No complimemtary water in rooms. The hotel is simply dead after sunset while nearby hotels are lively and lots of music and activities. This hotel management will save no effort to make your stay weird and unpleasant. They give you the feeling that u r staying for free. I recommend the management take some hospitality management and tourism courses. Communication skills is essential too. Every single moment I spent at the reception was full of unstable opinions and zero policy and principle. Even the intern who took a shift for the night till morning knows nothing but saying (I don't know). I would give 1 star just because of the management.
Where to start!! First, I read many different comments about this hotel, some are true and some are not. So, I'll list my detailed review making sure that every word I write here is honest and helpful. This hotel is a true gem of Ischia, regardless of the terrible personalities at the reception (the owner and her sons as they seem so) though our sincere thanx to Lino and his younger brother who were nice and friendly and I am sure they have that shamful feeling because of the grumpy attitudes of their family! The hotel is vintage and enchanting and I like such places. The view is breathtaking and their private terrace down the sea is just the perfect place to swim and relax. Breakfast is just perfect and has what you need at an island (local eggs, yogurt, variety of cakes, limited fruits though the island has super fruits varieties, jam & honey, cereals, meat, 3 types of cheese, 2 types of juice and hot drinks of course). Rooms are niether very small nor large, small and eficient enough for few days. Bed is super comfortable and bathrooms are beautiful with Sicilian taste. Services: The only good thing about services are the taxi lady we met, the staff at the breakfast though they barely smile and look mad all the time (do smiles cost money is this hotel? I guess yes), and gardener and the boatman. The restaurant is new and not many guests dine in though the dishes look awesome. Accessibility: the bus stops right at the door and be ready for some other grumpy bus drivers. They don't have tickets and not willing to help. You should buy tickets from the port when you first leave the ferry. Or take a taxi to the port again for 15 euros to buy a 1.5 euros for the bus 😝. The best way to utilize the island is to rent a scooter or a small car from the port. Final recommendation: don't book in this hotel. There are alot of nearby hotels that are very welcoming. Thanks to Lino and his wonderful very young brother. The island is worth multiple visits.
