I cannot think of a thing I did not like !

All went very well ! I stayed at The Rock in October '24 and wanted to go back there whenever a "good" air-ticket became available. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the hostel is very well situated, a very short walk from the splendid "site" of the Sassi (Historic Matera)

Nothing really.

I was very lucky, since the dorm that I was put in was empty. so I basically had a room to myself! Very nice. The hostel was very clean, well equipped kitchen. Staff was great, especially Pietro. Kudos to him. Really, nothing to complain about. Very convenient to the historical area, and all the things to be seen.

Nothing about the hostel, just the roommate that night made me didn’t sleep well lol.

Location is perfect. 15 minutes to Matera central station and Sassi di Matera. Peter is a great staff. Very friendly, helpful. You will receive a message which explains everything about the hostel and city. The room is big enough, bathroom inside. Highly recommended!

In the room night is little cold.

I arrived very late night so just left for me some intruduction how can i open the main door and the room, full description.Very good location, full kitchen and I like the lobby design . the room is big and have a key to thr locker. Bed is comfy. Bathroom nice and clean.

The Rock Hostel is situated in a fantastic location, just a short distance from the Sassi of Matera. The staff was absolutely wonderful, particularly Peter, who assisted me in finding the airport bus timetable and departure point. He was also kind enough to store my backpack on my last day and let me stay until the late bus departure. As for the room, it was impeccably clean and very comfortable. Overall, my stay exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend this hostel!

All was good. Even though reception is not open all the time, they let me in when I arrived to drop my stuff and even though I went in low season (Jan) and hostel was empty I truly enjoyed my stay

The staff is amazing, super friendly. There's a kitchen and open space with all that you need. The beds were fine with lights and electrical socket. The bathroom and shower offer enough privacy I don't know why there are some comments complaining about this. I guess some people never went to the gym to take a shower...

In the hostel, great attention is paid to hygiene and discipline, which gives it a big plus! It is in an excellent location, clean, tidy and without noise. Basic equipment that meets all the needs of travelers - optimally organized! The warm and simple hosts who are always ready to help give the hostel a special warmth. Valeria and Peter are professional and informative.

There is no staff until 8 am. I arrived 6 am so I had to kill time at a coffee shop. I guess I shouldn’t complain because this is one way to keep costs down.

It’s a 30-minute walk from the bus station but is easy to find. And is just 10 minutes away from the historic center of Matera. Location is the best thing about this hostel

The only downside for me was the policy that everyone even if you were booked for more than 1 night had to leave the hostel for 2 hours from 10 am to 12pm otherwise great place
