Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomStaying in the historical centre is guaranteed fun. You get a sense of life in Rome (albeit the tourist area) and these apartments are definitely in a good spot. The downside is the walls are thin, so you will hear your neighbours, and the streets below can be busy, so it's a vibrant place to stay. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. Some people might complain about the stairs, but again, for me, that's just a taste of historical Rome. It's what you sign up for.

HungaryThe Wi-Fi is slow, which is - although typical in Italy - frustrating if you need to get work done. I can't think of anything else, we were very happy with the room.
It has an amazing location and a friendly and helpful host - perfect for a couple of days in Rome. Definitely get the room with the balcony. The room can get quite cold, but there is air conditioning. The bathroom is spacious. Perfect for couples. Next door, there is the oldest restaurant in Europe - give it a try, best Italian meal we have ever had.

Czech RepublicNothing in particular - it's no luxury but if you need an accomodation in great location while exploring Rome it's a good choice. Be aware that there is no full-time receptionist, if you want anything you have to communicate with the owner online.
A comfortable accomodation in the city center, great for two people for a short trip to Rome. The location is perfect as many tourists attractions are in walking distance + there's many restaurants and bars around. Public transport (bus) also nearby. As for the accomodation itself there was nothing to complain about - it was clean, bed is comfortable, some basic amenities were provided (towels, hair dryer, shower gel, shampoo), regular cleaning service. The owner was very kind and provided earlier check-in for us & on the day we checked-out we could leave our luggage at the accomodation and pick it up later.

OmanThere’s a book in the room detailing the area. There’s no reception so no one to ask questions or get suggestions. There were flying ants in the bathroom.
The location was perfect for seeing the sights. Lively neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and shops.

IrelandThe most critical drawback of this accomodation is that the rooms ARE NOT soundproof at all to any noise inside the apartment. This is a self-service apartment which contains around 2 rooms (I forgot the excat numbers). So, the story is, someone moved into my neighbouring room on my second night stay, and they are SUPER loud and noisy and talking loud inside the room and in the corridor in the night and early morning. That makes my experience much worse because I understand despite September is still peak travelling season of Rome and this accomodation is located in a bit more fancy area, the soundproofness should have been better with the price point that I am paying. Second drawback, altought everything in this room is very clean, the cleaners did not clear the rust on the shower head which is very disgusting.
Spacious room and bed, Air-con is working pretty good, and the sockets' locations and numbers are very good. The room is facing to small alley so it would be quiet unless the neighbouring room is loud and noisy. Accessible to most of the sightseeing points and buses nearby can get you almost anywhere you want, but the metro is a bit far away, about 12 mins walk.

Czech RepublicWaste water from the bath does not drain smoothly. Rest of the room was clean. Missing plate "do not disturb".
Very good location, strategically placed in the center of all attractions, that you wanna visit in Rome (S. Angelo castle, Vatican, Fontana do Trevi, Pantheon, Colloseum). Refrigerator on the room. Very useful. Continuous communication from the hotel staff on WhatsApp.

United KingdomWe weren’t aware that this is a room within a shared apartment. The room had all we needed so didn’t need to use the shared facilities, however it was a surprise. The room itself is quite dark.
Location was good. Good distance to most things in Rome and Vatican. The balcony was nice and the bed was very comfortable.

CroatiaWhen we first came to the apartment I wasn't happy with how it was cleaned. There was someone else's hair at the bathroom floor. Also the glasses in room weren't cleaned properly. Also, in the shared kitchen you have to clean what you use. I don't have problem with that but the sponge for washing the dished looked disgusting and there was little amount of diswashing detergent and old hand soup. Because of that, I'm not sure how well have been cleaned the dished before we came. At the end, you have to wash everything.
The location is amazing. It is like 5 minutes away on foot from Fontana di Trevi. Also, there is market just around the corner. Usually, it is hard to find market like that in central of Rome. We used our room for sleeping at night and spent all day wandering around the town and despite the shortcomings, the apartment met our expectations
