Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Not having a shower in room, we didn’t actually stay in the hostel we got taken to a different location, it was weird.

The shared facilities were very old but tried to be kept clean
It’s close to city Centre, it was very quiet, beds were comfortable

-No tv remote -No way to control temperature (winter - was warm - some will love the heat!) -Pictures (of our room at least) clearly took a while ago

I didn't like how the hostel assistant treats the visitors I didn't like that our room still needs a lot of stuff, e.g. air conditioner, toilet, soap & shampoo .. etc
I like that the hotel is near several places in Rome

I would honestly say if you want a cheap place that is central this is ok. However, please don't come with the expectation that you coming to ritz. Generally ok, price good.

No AC. We arrived in 35 degree heat to a fan in the corner of the room. We managed to get another small machine but then when we contacted the host we heard no reply for remainder of the trip. The building the apartment is located in is a disaster. So old, worn down.

looked nothing like the pictures, when we arrived we were informed we were moving locations as the owner owns multiple hostels and he moved us into a different building. There was nothing wrong with our stay itself, but i am not sure if all the building owned by the company were worth the same value.

Room was not the one advertised. They made me come to a building and then they took me to another one. The hotel wasn’t at the address they sent me initially.
The person who helped out accommodating me a day prior to my reservation was the one good experience about this room.

The furniture and furnishings are really old.
The staff waited and did a late check-in. There was air conditioning and hot water to wash yourself.

Room not as pictured, bathroom window was not able to be closed and gave a lack of privacy, linen was ripped, room was generally run down. The hostel was hard to find, did not have a sign out the front, and was two small apartments with different hostel names inside a building. Police also raided on our first night.
Bed comfortable, walking distance to Trevi fountain and pantheon, great restaurants in the area, great for a short stay

The room wasn’t ready when we arrived. Some dirt on the floor was cleaned with a towel after we mentioned that it’s npt clean.
It was calm and it was possible to work from the room.

the room was rather not clean with dust everywhere, hopefully, the bedsheets were changed we were too scared to use the shared shower, as there was only a curtain there
location was good, same with the price of the stay, being a good value for money for a one-night stay

Hot water was not present most of the time and it was pretty cold when we stayed there in rome. Just abit messy in out closet and abit dirty underneath the bed
Property was very close to the train station and also the other attractions. Price of the accommodations is fine due to location.

Although it is actually not expensive accommodation, nevertheless, there were couple minuses... We usually rent some cheap places as we really don't have high expectations, but in this hotel: there is not very clean (we have bathroom in our room also), there were broken shutters on the window, at the beginning there were cold water - we have to ask stuff to turn on hot water so it wasn't available all the time (only in the evenings). There were very loud at night (very thin walls), we couldn't sleep because we've heard every step, doors closing, and so on.... so I am sure that in this price you may easily find something else...

The hostel assistant was bad-mannered. Anything we asked he replied in a rude way. He took as to another building a few blocks away without any explanation.
The hostel is quiet and clean.
