One thing to note—the shower space is quite narrow, but this seems to be a common issue in many Italian hotels. It wasn’t a dealbreaker for me, but something to keep in mind if you prefer more spacious bathrooms. Also the pillows were on the thinner side, which some guests might find uncomfortable, but there were plenty available, so I stacked a few to reach the comfort level I’m used to.

When booking a hotel, I have three key requirements: central location, cleanliness, and a comfortable bed—and Hotel University delivered on all three. The room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and the overall experience was great. Additionally, the staff were consistently friendly and helpful, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. If you're looking for a well-located, clean, and comfortable place to stay in Bologna, this hotel is definitely worth it!

The hotel locates in partly pedestrian district and in walking distance from Bologna railway station,. The room had all basic amentities - AC, minibar, kettler, safe, TV. The bathroom had shower cabin and bide. The staff was helpful and provided all available information. I did not try the breakfast.

I was amazed by the staff always so nice and helpful, the hotel cleanliness, location, comfort, and value for money. Could not have chosen a better place. When I first booked, I thought this could have been a hotel mainly designed for students, but not at all. It is perfect for adults who are looking for a quiet stay. Definitely recommend! I believe the hotel should be a 4 rather than 3 stars.

Liked the location, the fact that it was small and cosy, that it was quiet and welcoming and that I had heat - as I travelled in December, so quite cold outside. The place was also easy to find, on foot, from the bus stop, so all the better. All in all, it's a nice stay if you have a couple of days or a little over and if you're looking for a nice, quiet, cosy place to rest your head.

Everything was fine, but when I entered the room, I found two long hair in the shower and on the toilet floor, likely from the cleaning staff.

The location was excellent, right in the historical center and very close to the main attractions, just a 15-minute walk from the train station. The receptionists are very helpful.

The size of the shower.

Location is perfect, very close to Piazza Maggiore. Breakfast is an ok plus. Staff is kind. Room is small and, in our case (matrimonial room and an extra bed - that we did not use), the bathroom had a very small shower space.

I liked everything. Nothing to complain about.

The place is a decent 3-star hotel with a reception, so you do not have to inform about the precise time of your arrival, which can be of help in situations with late or cancelled trains to the city. The hotel is located in the area popular with students, so you will find many osterias, bars and restaurants with reasonable prices. The breakfast was tasty and sufficient, the lady in the basement breakfast room was happy to bring you another cup of cappuccino. Everyone was smiley and friendly.
