Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThere is a large sign above the building but they could use a small sign at the street level door. They did say they were working on that and the shop next to the door pointed us in the right direction. Jordanians are truly some of the most hospitable people.
We were here for a short amount of time as it was our last stop before a very early (3:30am!) flight. We were just looking for somewhere to rest and clean up after a long day of sightseeing and driving and found the Classy Hostel online. Honestly it is misnamed. As someone who regularly stays in upscale hotels, this is not a hostel. It is a “mini” hotel with five or six private rooms with full baths upstairs above a local shopping street that is a block from the main sites in Madaba. The rooms are simply furnished (think Comfort Inn),roomy, and spotlessly clean with all new furniture and bedding. There is also a fridge and coffee/tea station plus cups, plates and utensils. The father/son team who run this are beyond accommodating and even dropped off some fruit and sweets so we would have a pre airport snack. We parked right on the street in front of the door and walked out in the middle of the night always feeling safe and secure. The owner had offered a private parking spot if we preferred but Jordan really is just so safe that we just opted for as close as possible. This place is a hidden gem as we could have spent three times as much on the airport hotel that has mediocre reviews and it was so nice to get to the airport refreshed. We would have happily stayed more nights if we had more time to explore the area.

United Arab EmiratesWe went end December, and the cold was too much for the AC to manage
Great host. Great location On a busy street and very close to restaurants, banks, exchanges and local market. Close to the St Georges Church and other local Madaba attractions can be covered on foot. It was very chilly during end December, far more than what the AC can manage. The owner cam eup and provided a gas heater understanding that we were not comfortable due to cold inside the room. He is a very supportive man and provides you tips on local restaurants etc.

IndiaLoved it all!
It was beyond expectations. We had windows that opened so fresh air flowed through. Facilities were top notch. The hosts were so responsive and wonderful- thank you! We were only guests I think but even if more - private rooms. Calling it a hostel does not do justice to how nice everything it is. Very thoughtful design of space. Central location- easy to walk to everything including money exchange.

FranceEverything was absolutely perfect. 0 negative comments.
Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and equipped with everything we needed. The bed was super comfortable and as a bonus, they have a very pleasant scent. We felt right at home. The hospitality was exceptionally warm. We sincerely thank the family who runs the hotel for making us feel so comfortable and safe. We highly recommend Classy Hostel in Madaba. Lou&Farzine

CroatiaReally nothing to dislike here
First, this place is not a hostel, as the name suggests. This is a guesthouse with 6 modern rooms and a central location. It feels like a very safe place where you have everything you need in the room. The family who runs it couldn't be more hospitable and helpful, with timely communication in good English. Absolutely recommended with great value for money.
