Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PolandThe room was nice and cozy with comfortable bed. For colder days you can use the radiator and for hot ones, there is the air conditioning. Also there is free tea and coffee every time and meals if you request it earlier. There is a small bathroom, but with everything you need. If you have a car you can leave it at the parking lot at the beginning of the village and walk +/- 10 minutes to Oryx Hostel

United KingdomThe hostel prefers to value your privacy during your stay, so if you need bins emptied or toilet cleaned you will need to ask.
Oryx hotel is a perfect base for visiting Wadi Rum, and the rooms having air con/ heating plus en-suite facilities sets it apart. The room was large allowing the 2 of us to spread out our considerable climbing equipment. But most of all the staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and the breakfast and dinner excellent. It was so nice to walk in from a days climbing to have a plentiful, tasty, wholesome dinner waiting for us. The owner is well respected in the village and is seemingly related to everyone! but not in any way pushy. It was easy to arrange any trips or tours with genuine local Bedouin people, helping the Wadi Rum community rather than those from outside the area, such as in the nearby ‘camps’. Although my time in Wadi Rum has come to an end, my soul is still in the desert, and I will be back!

GermanyThe breakfast was a bit disappointing. Very little to choose and not much. There was another couple and once everyone took from the breakfast it was almost nothing left. Also there's is no cutlery (you have to ask) You can pay for dinner (10JD) but the kitchen looked not very clean, we didn't wanted to get something from there.
The owner is a very helpful, funny person. He really made us the best price for the tours we booked. We had two tours with him and his cousin, both amazing. The Hostel itself is nice and the tents have air-conditioning and a nice little bathroom. If you sit at breakfast in the morning you have an amazing view over the mountains.

United KingdomWould really recommend this hostel if you are wanting to stay in the village. It is really new and everything is well designed, comfy and clean. The owner Ahmed is really helpful and always around to answer any questions or help out. You might get to mean his very cute son too! We had food some nights and that was delicious. There are chairs you can sit in the sun and there is always free tea and coffee available.

United StatesDuring a rain storm heater and hot water were out, as far as I know, which was also true at the other two Wadi Rum camps I visited. Electricity even in the village is apparently unstable. Part of the experience.
The owner Ahmad is flexible and reliable and has a good sense of humor. The dinner he brought in was ample and filling and the private tour he took me on included spontaneous visits to camp near his own, his aunt's family camp and the waterfalls that were streaming down that day due to rain. The room's heaters worked when it was not raining. The wifi well worked despite the rain.

GermanyThe owner tried to charge me more money than the stated booking price. He wanted me to pay the extra fees booking is charging him. This didn’t make me feel very welcome and created a strange atmosphere. The dinner was very basic for 10 dinar.
The room was nice and clean. The place has a good vibe.

United KingdomBreakfast was limited and could be more varied. Facilities were OK but had to ask to be resolved which they were quickly. Eg door lock was broken, no toilet paper or soap, internet was down as credit not topped up. The owner is mostly professional but if it came to an issue or problem, he was very defensive or denied it was responsibility or not is problem. He did not handle well some constructive criticism I wanted to discuss with him. How to handle a complaint is something he needs learn. He did offer an explanation later but it sounded to convenient to be true. I am expecting him to respond to this in the feedback.
Good location. Large rooms with big bath room. Beautiful mountain views.
