How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The rooms are comfortable but would benefit from some re-decoration. The bed linen and towels were clean, but the bedspread was pretty dirty.
Kitasenju is a great location as a transport hub, and the hotel is close to the station. The breakfast is good value and it was very useful to be allowed to use the communal space even after checkout.

Considering the amount I paid when I added for an extra fee for my guest ( almost $ 400 bucks) another person the next day asked additional fee. I don’t mind paying but breakfast wasn’t even included.

The linen and the bathroom curtain spelled strange. Lighting was too bright, there was no regulator.
The location! Almost right next to the station and the connection is very good to everywhere. Department stores and restaurants are close as well. Free drink.

There are no closets or wardrobes in the room and honestly there is no place for them. It would be great to have for example a couple of wall shelves to put the things on them.
This hotel is close to the subway and railway station, the area is lively and there are many shops and restaurants around. The room is rather small, but comfortable enough, the staff is helpful. There is a microwave and free cold and hot drinks at the first floor.

Given the price, it would have been nice if breakfast was included. The curtains could have done a better job of blocking out the morning sun but I’ve only found one hotel in Japan that has such curtains.
The staff were professional from start to finish. A free drink bar was provided. One of the standout features is the free laundry; detergent is sold for 50 yen but you can otherwise wash your clothes and dry them without dropping even a single 100-yen coin. Both machines have customisable settings; the drier can be set to run in 5-minute increments. The hotel is located close to Kita Senju Station with JR and subway access. A number of convenience stores and affordable restaurants with long opening hours are in the immediate vicinity.

Rooms were a little on the small side for the two double bed size room.
Rooms are small but nice. Excellent staff who go out of their way for you. Good breakfast buffet which is optional. Great location about a block from large 9 floor mall and subway. Mall has many restaurants, which are all excellent.

Room was too tiny. Window was frosted.
Free drinks were offered at the lobby. Location is great, near train station with several lines. Many food joints and 2 big shopping malls nearby.

Very friendly people at the hotel. Eco friendly as a good collection of toiletries was available at the lobby and was not simply stuffed in each room. Free drinks (coffee and softdrinks) in the lounge area.

The curtain in the room didn't really stop the sunlight at all. Hard to sleep in when you're being blinded by the sun.
The amount of outlets in the room is exceptional. Also the coffee was beyond my expectations.

The microwave is not very conveniently located (you must go to the lobby).
The staff were great, the room had everything I needed and was very private - great soundproofing. Free drinks!

Need little more upgrade on the breakfast. Mattress too soft.
