Clean, proximity to subway and bus stops, restaurants. Nice public bath available and coin laundry.

Location is not great, a bit far from the nightlife and restaurants They don’t clean your room until the third day but even that day they didn’t clean deeply they even left used cups and didn’t replace tea or coffee bags. I find this details reasons to lower the range of the hotel. For the price the room cleaning is important. It lacks furniture to place your personal items. There are no wardrobes or any other accessories to keep clothes and personal stuff. Breakfast is ok but super overrated. Should cost half price

The room was nice I like the onsen

I originally found a room here on Booking by filtering by "soundproof rooms" "twin room". I made a booking of a twin room with two separate beds, which was confirmed on the pictures. However at the time of check in the staff informed us that we are getting a double king size bed. That was awfully unexpected. However by paying 14000 yen on top for three nights our room was upgraded to premium twin room with two separate beds. The location is not very convenient - 10 min walk from the subway station or 25 min walk from Kyoto station. Not horrible to me, but walking with suitcases on you is inconvenient.

Great staff, very friendly cleaners, good work. They made my bed in the cutest way every by tucking the blanket to my toy Usapyon. We used takyubin (address delivery of luggage) in Japan and sent our suitcases all the way from our hotel in Tokyo to Urban Kyoto Premium. It is the only hotel that actually brought our luggage to the room before our arrival. Or probably it was because we upgraded to a premium room. Either way nice service. Speaking of onsen, I loved the lifting gel provided.

Clear information on booking I choose a room for 2 adults and a child but was sold a double room with one bed.

We were charged extra for our child's breakfast despite not being informed before travel so fell misled.

Unfortunately, the room had some factors that made it the least comfortable I've found during my stay in Japan. First of all, they have only one kind of pillows, which are thick and mid-hard, so not ideal if you need soft/thin pillows to sleep well (as it's my case). Reception told me they don't have any alteratives, so they might want to consider keeping in stock at least some soft/thin pillows (which is something normally all hotels do). Another factor which, unfortunately, was poor is windows insulation. The fact they used a window with only aluminum framing results in giving the impression your window is open all the time. You'll hear all noises from outside (there hotel is located on a major route) and also the cold will pass through the window, impacting the room internal temperature.

The room was quite big (compared to other cities I've been in Japan) and the breakfast served was very rich (buffet stlye). The location is not bad neither ideal: it's located around 20 minutes from the station, but unfortunately buses don't allow big luggages aboard, so it might be somewhat complicated to reach, especially considering the size of lateral streets in Kyoto (so consider taking a taxi). The facility has a very convenient inexpensive restaurant at about 100m, which is perfect for dinner if you don't feel like walking around (there aren't many restaurants in the area).

Close to centre, however if I have to say something negative, you need to walk 10-15mins to reach tube station (anyway there are many bus stops around)

Great value for money. Rooms are clean and good equipped (even though are small as usually in Japan and barely space when you want to open the luggage). Modern bathroom and the shower is amazing. We did not have breakfast included, but you can purchase per day.
