How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The wifi in my room is not that good. I wish we could have new bottle of water everyday. However, it is fine as the tap water is drinkable.
All the staffs are helpful. All of them communicate English perfectly. The room is a bit small but packed with everything you need. They give you the new towels and toilet amenities everyday. The location is not busy yet packed with all you need. The train to the airport is just a walkaway.

The room can be quite small for two people, but I was alone so I didn't have any problems.
Very friendly staff, allowed me to store my luggage before check-in and on the day of my check-out! They even helped me look for alternatives when I lost my Suica card.

The hotel is extremely close to Nippori station, making transportation around Tokyo as well as to Narita Airport easy. The staff are also very friendly, helpful, and funny. Especially Trang chan!

I had a reservation on 4-5 and 8-9 (going to another prefecture in between) and was able to store my luggage without charge during the period between my stays. It is very convenient and I’m very satisfied. There is also a scale where I can use to weigh my luggage to prepare to leave the country.

The rooms are very hot in winter, the thermostat doesn’t work. We had to open our windows and the hotel is so close to the station that you can hear absolutely everything and it is very very loud, impossible to sleep The pillows are really old and hard and not comfortable. I generally don’t care but here it is up to a point that it cannot meet any normal standard

Some rooms are a little bit small and if you travel with big luggages, there could be an space problem
Its the second time I´ve been to this hotel, and both times I felt so comfortable staying here, the location is exceptional (Next to Nippori station, which includes Yamanote Line), there are a lot of restaurants near and you can visit Ueno by walk from your hotel. I always recommend to stay in APA hotels when you visit Japan

The bed mattress is too soft. It hurt my back. Warning to anyone with a bad back, you'd better be off to some other place. I asked for something to sleep on the floor and the front desk staff kindly gave me a bedsheet. They did try to help but it seems like all the mattresses in other rooms are equally soft. I ended up sleeping on the floor because there's no other way I could sleep without hurting my back.
Location is close to Nippori, which is the biggest plus for people going to Narita.

Aircon is heater only. Had to open the windows to keep cool but the streets were noisy at night
Close to the train station that has express train for airport. Perfect for us on our short stopover.

Only positives!
Very convenient location adjacent to Nippori station, the first stop from Narita on the Skyliner train. Quick check in with very welcoming staff. Very clean room, small as it is the norm for this type of hotel, but super well designed. Unbeatable Japanese Omotenashi.

I was requested to check in early and received an email is ok to check in early without any charges, when we got there, the receptionist said no early check in, and we have to pay if want to check in one hour early. The room way to small. The one bed was touch the wall, so when I need to go to the bathroom at night, I have to passed by my husband to get to the edge of the bed.
The area is by a lot of restaurants

Great location from the station, I will warn that if you don't like stairs or can't use stairs this hotel sits at the bottom of a vary large staircase from the station. Room was small but it's Everything you need with friendly staff!

If you turn the heater on, it’s too warm and hot in the room, however if you switch it off, there will be smell of smoke in the room. Possibly because I stayed in the lower floor, not sure if the smell of smoke come from outside or inside. Also the bed is slightly tilted to one side, otherwise it’s a really comfort and clean bed.
Location is great, staff is really nice and welcoming. The room is clean.
