Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyYou get what you pay for, i.e. the rooms are small, but they have everything you need (esp. if you're a solo traveller like me). Convenient location just around the metro station, takes ~10 minutes from Osaka Umeda station.

The breakfast were adequate but we really loved the location - so close to the Osaka Castle, and it's lovely to take a nightly stroll around the castle park. Room were really tight but compatible with price, so no complaints there. We also loved the man made hot spring - very relaxing after a long day of walking and shopping.

United StatesAs with many hotels in Japan, be prepared for small rooms. Suitcases can fit under the bed, but to access open suitcases may be a tight squeeze, especially if you're travelling with a partner.
Great location. The Osaka castle was within walking distance and could be viewed from the street corner that the hotel is near. Also very close to a subway station and within walking distance to a JR line making commuting around Osaka as well as inter-city travel (day trips to Nara or Kyoto etc.) very convenient.

NetherlandsThe elevator in the morning is a problem, as there are only two and it can take 5-10 minutes just to get on one.
Once you have stayed at an APA hotel, you have stayed at all of them. Meaning, you understand the concept of a small room, basic amenities and basically a place to sleep but not spend the day. This APA hotel matches all of that, extra is the public Japanese bath and decent restaurant. It's also right outside of the Osaka Metro with plenty of shopping and dining options nearby.

Netherlands- The onsen was rather small compared to our previous experience in Tokyo (only two small baths), however during our stay it wasn't crowded. - Cleanliness could have been a little better, there was dust and fingerprints in some places. - APA only cleans on request due to "environmental" reasons but supplies styrofoam cups every single day at the door, which I don't really understand. They also don't collect dirty towels from the room so at the end of the stay we had a whole pile taking up a lot of space.
Good location, practically next to a metro station. Family mart next to the hotel.

SloveniaThe in-hotel/side restaurant with a self-serve counter was a bit expensive by how much I eat, their water heating machine for tea didn't work. The view out the window was just another building.
The in-hotel/side restaurant with a self-serve counter was a bit expensive by how much I eat (1800 same day, 1600 reservation the day before), but more so confusing as I had hoped to see cuisine unique to the area, but only saw Western/European style dishes except the salad. When arriving at the hotel I was surprised that they have a "Onsen"-type hot bath in the second floor that is free to use by guests, only limited by capacity and two time slots (morning/evening-night). The wi-fi connection and free TV usage was a lifesaver as the phone didn't quite get a strong enough signal for the eSim and hearing the news and having stretch routines throughout the news cycle surprised me. Amenity packages being placed on the door every few days were a surprise and honestly a bit much by how little I had used the in-room supplies before the first and even second bags came around. The location itself being in Tanimachi 1, a block away from the Osaka castle, Osaka Museum and other locations including the river with ferry busses. A quick 40min walk (or a train ride away from the corner station) to Osaka Station to see some old parts of the city and the markets was fascinating. Family Mart and 7 Eleven blanketing almost every corner of the main street along with vending machines everywhere assured me of never running out of drinks, what with even the hotel itself having vending machines on both 1F and 2F.
