Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PhilippinesHotel lobby is crowded with people and their baggages. No ample space for storage of people's luggage. Buffet breakfast is okay but not that great compared to other branches. Limited options for food and very cramped inside, you are limited to 40mins of eating time. Also, there is no convenience store inside the hotel itself unlike the other branches I've been.
Location is accessible to both nearby subway and JR lines. Was able to check in 1 hour early with a fee of 1000yen.

SwitzerlandTattoo policy for the bath, but this is typical in Japan and understandable
Nice location, compact but well thought out rooms, and convenient self check in and out. The terms for late check out are reasonable (1000 yen per hour up to 14:00) The public onsen can't be used by those with tattoos so I didn't go Housekeeping is ever 3 days but they give you fresh towels daily

Australia15 minute walk to the main Shinjuku Station. There are many small local restuarants in Shinjuku if you explore the streets off the main thoroughfares (although not all have English menus).

Great location, a short walk into the heart of Shinjuku, as well as trains. The room was fully stocked with toiletries, robes, and slippers.

FranceThe room is very small, not a lot of space. The cleaning is made poorly. They ask you to put your luggage under the bed and mine was covered with dust. A lot of people at check in, which you do by yourself !
The location is great. Walking distance to Tokyo subway station and convenient store. Vibrant neighborhood, lots of shops, restaurants. Easy checkout.

Local. In the heart of Shinjuku, the room was a typical business based hotel. Sadly we didn't take advantage of the onsen and the popular restaurant down in the lobby since we only stayed for 2 nights.

AustraliaThere was nothing unexpected that we didn't like. We knew the rooms would be quite small and they very much were, so please take that at face value - the smallest we stayed in during our trip to Japan. However, it had everything we needed and we were very happy with our stay. We were too shy to visit the public bath, but would have loved to rent a private one for an hr or so if available - perhaps an option the hotel could consider for future?
Perfect location for exploring Tokyo and surrounds. Super close to several subway stations and thee express bus terminal. Super close to Combinis and lots of restaurants too! We found it an ideal base. The staff were fantastic and super helpful, we really appreciated the help to fill out the takkyubin slip for forwarding our luggage to our hotel in Kyoto. Cleaning was good too. And great to have fresh towels each day. Great addition to have a power plug outlet that was actually an international adaptor so you could plug anything in.

PhilippinesThe room feels like dusty. The moment I lay my bed I feel itch. The aircon is centralized and you need to call the receptionist if you want to change the temperature which is a little inconvenient so I just let it be.
The Hotel is just a steps to convenience store and to Shinjuku central. It’s also close to train station.

CanadaThe rooms are very small! I felt like it was about 200 sq feet. There was only room for the bed and a small table and a chair. Needless to say the washroom is very small as well so it’s hard to change or move around. We had to place the luggages underneath the bed which makes it inconvenient when you’re constantly going through your luggage. There was no hair dryer which would’ve been nice. We asked for water bottles on the second day as well as a power adapter and was told to go to Don Quiote. Was only provided 2 water bottles on the very first night and we payed for a 4 night stay. The rooms would also turn very cold when we would leave for the day with the card that powers on the room so we’d have to adjust each night. Staff were helpful, but not as hospitable as other establishments or hotel in Tokyo we’ve stayed at in the past.
The location is very convenient, maybe a 7 minute walk to Higashi-Shinjuku Station. The room was clean and for the most part had everything we needed.

FinlandThe staff was not very helpful. We need to do our check-in on a computer and scan passport, documents, etc. Not very smooth but we made it. They didn't speak English super well, so communication was not smooth, The breakfast area is not that big, so better wake up early and get your place.
The location is very good, in the heart of Shinjuku, a sort of "Red-light area", and we still felt very safe, amused with the lights, great amount of restaurants and it was very fun. It is busy, so if you are looking for a calm and modern area, you should not stay here, but this is the dream to get to know Tokyo culture. The breakfast was a great experience every day. Delicious food!

IndonesiaThere are so many APA Hotels in this area. You have to be aware of this exact location. I went to two different APA hotels before I got to the right hotel
Everything is accessible from this hotel! Near to the public transportation stations, in front of this hotel there are a lot of Korean restaurants (which I really like!). There are a lot of convenience stores as well.

RomaniaRooms is pretty small. You need to get up earlier to have breakfast
Good hotel, room is very small but this is expected for Tokyo. You need to put your suitcase under the bed to have room to move around. Beds are comfortable. Air conditioning/heating was working strange, it seemed to have only on/off, temperature setting was not working. Breakfast is good, but the breakfast area is pretty small and can get crowded so you might need to get up earlier.
