How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Could have been proces a little lower.
The room view was good. The hotel facilities especially the Genyo was good. The hotel staff was exceptional.

Room was really small. Also it is quite a bit of walk from both roppongi and roppongi itchome station (which is not ideal after a long day sightseeing or shopping)-it was a struggle to get to hotel from airport with public transport

There are way too many giant mirrors and the lamp flickered.
It was very conveniently located. Even though I wasn't interested in their subjects, having books in the room made me smile.

Everything was perfect.
The rooms are not that big but I believe is not necessary since I was exploring the city all day and just arrived at the hotel to sleep. They included all the amenities necessary for the stay and everything was very clean. I would recommend this hotel since is very affordable despite being in the centre of the city.

To be honest, I highly do not recommend this hotel. The rooms were extremely, and I emphasize EXTREMELY small. It was the smallest room I have had in my 350+ stays on Booking.com. If you only want a place to sleep, it’s OK, but be aware that the room is extremely small.
The hotel was clean, the check-in process was very smooth, and the hotel had a good location, right in the Roppongi district. The hotel had a rooftop pool and also offered wellness services.

The staff were not very warm and they seemed to be pretty judgmental toward foreigners. They had a lot of ‘No’ to requests for help and wanted to charge for everything. An example is when I ordered food they wouldn’t accept it or let the delivery person come up and I have an infant with me. They wouldn’t call me a taxi when I checked out without charging me.

Only problem were the rooms were a little small but well used in terms of space.

The cleaning is horrible for all APA hotels. Carpets are never clean. There's always hair in the sink, or on the beds, mold in and aorund the windows and they NEVER clean under the beds, I've seen donuts, trash and whatever under the bed. Also the pillows are rock solid and the air quality is really bad in the rooms.
Location-wise it is a very nice hotel, there's a huge donkihotte right next door as well, and a shopping mall only 10 minute walk.

The room was super small and not very clean. We found nails from other guests in our room. Breakfast is every day finish and staff did not wanted to make some new food even that breakfast still was open for 45 min. The food was very veryyy simple and no wide selection. Breakfast at MacDonalds is 20 times better. We paid for breakfast but could not use it becouse there was nothing left and after complaining about it they did NOT wanted to refund and came with silly answers and lies. Tokyo is amazing but this hotel and the staff was so unfriendly and totally not helpful . Only thing they did is saying 5 times sorry and that’s it.

The staff was extremely helpful and very friendly! The room and communal facilities were clean and well maintained. During my stay in Japan, I lodged at multiple APA hotel locations and each one provided the highest quality of service and care. APA Hotel in Roppingi was no exception, everything provided by the location at Roppongi-Eki-Higashi was amazing. Thank you!

This area is bumping at night. I didn't like the surroundings walking from the train to hotel.
They have public bath on the top floor. Everyday after all the walks we did, we will go to the onsen and its so relaxing. Highly recommended! We didn't even shower in our room.

The men spa should be checked often as some men do not wash ,while some do bath with their underwear on . Not acceptable.
Usual nice comfortable room . The spa facilities are excellent. Very well located for transport & sightseeing. Excellent hotel.

We stayed there for 5 nights but they didn't change the sheets! They left a note that its because of our luggage on the bed, the next day that we left to go out we arrange our luggage and stow it under the bed as per the instruction on the wall but still, they didn't change the sheets and gave us the same reason that our luggage was on the bed but we put it under.
The staffs were nice and accommodating, the rooms are a bit small for family of three but we slept comfortably. I love their smart tv, its huge and we can watch shows through youtube.

The room was too small, and we didn't even have big luggage. The breakfast offered a good variety of Asian food, but very poor on Western options. The hotel is very impersonal, you rarely have contact with a staff member. The staff is not helpful, as they speak very little English, asked 2 members to book a taxi and they could not understand. If you have tattoos you won't be able to use the spa. Information that I just found hidden at the bottom of the hotel page in the "The fine print" section, which perhaps they should change "may not be" to "won't be".
