Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesToo small room and the bathroom. I'm not sure if these rooms are designed for the average asian body type, but for slightly tall folks, it was hard to use the bathroom. I ended up hitting myself while trying to move in the tiny bathroom.
Decent price and location, if one's frugal with their luggage, then a decent option. Do not bring big bags.

CanadaThe hotel was very busy when we were there and getting into an elevator could be very time consuming. Room was efficient but compact, but this is in Japan so expected.
A good central location easily accessible by taxis or train. There is a train line right at the property. A huge selection of shopping, food and sights within easy walking distance. New build with a Spa, convenience store and laundry on site.

AustraliaSpace probably too tight for 2 people, but okay for one person.
Great location accessible to subways and shops, clean and very helpful staff. Amenities are good for the price point (Coin operated laundry, common area for microwave access, toiletries includes good quality toothbrush, towels were changed daily) 2F access to FamilyMart, a couple of steps away from a good size 711 w/ ATM and access to subways via lift (exit number 18).

AustraliaRoom is obviously a bit small but that’s to be expected and beds are a little uncomfy.
The hotel is nice and quiet, has Lawson and 7/11 very close by and the train station runs underneath so very easy to get by anywhere

United KingdomAt check out the 5 lifts were really busy, it took us 15 minutes to get down to the lobby, we couldn’t take the stairs as we were on the 18th floor with 3 suitcases.
Great location, walking distance to Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori. Using exit/entrance 18 for the Hommachi station lets you out right next to the hotel. Clean and compact room, although we didn’t use all of them the hotel had great amenities. Next door to a convenience store incase you need anything before you head out all day.

United StatesMy room facing the highway so there’s constant cars and sirens
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!! I love this Apa Hotel. Super close to everything and also convenient as well connected to the train station. I will definitely be coming back here. Late nights/mornings I would get hungry and the Family mart inside the hotel 2F is open with food as well as 7/11 just around the corner. There is also a Spa inside, also you self check in at the front desk. Only problem I had but wasn’t that bad was my room was 9th floor facing the highway! So some nights I would wake up from exhaustion due to ambulance or sirens going off. Other nights I still hear the cars, but I was too tired to let it bother my sleep.

United KingdomRooms were a little on the small side, not a major issue but if you have a lot of luggage or you're staying with someone else it'll be a squeeze
Great location right above a subway station, within walking distance of several solid eateries and within a 20 minute ride of most attractions/landmarks. Bed is extremely comfortable, best sleep I got in Japan by far

United StatesBooking.com says breakfast included, but I did not get that. Also, I didn't account for the lost day when flying from USA, so I booked an extra day before I even showed up, and the hotel didn't credit me another day or refund. Booking.com could do a better job at having reminders/alerts about time difference when booking.
Location is PERFECT for commute, especially in bad weather. You can take elevator to station level floor right from the hotel.

DenmarkIt seemed during my stay, the ice dispenser/machine at around 10-15th floor, had no cups left so you couldnt get any ice cubes. So decided during my stay, to just go to the top floor each time, whenever i needed some ice.
The staff were really helpful and friendly, the hotel had a nice view over the city, when you had a room higher up. I liked the public bath, and used it alot during my stay.
