Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandGreat location, across the road from the train station and 7/11 and. Facilities were clean and tidy. Bed/pillows were a little hard and the room is quite small but the room size is pretty standard for Japan and it has a great private bathroom.

GermanyClean room, friendly staff, very helpful with luggage transfer. Small rooms, but this is expected with most APA rooms, but there was room under the bed for suitcases. Thanks again!

South AfricaThe bed was slightly hard, but really nitpicking here.
The location was superb with easy access to metro lines. We used this as a base to visit Tokyo Disney, and it was absolutely perfect. Staff were kind and courteous, late checkout was offered for a small fee per hour, which was much appreciated. We will be back!

CanadaThe walls and ceilings are thin. I could hear my neighbors.
My stay was comfortable. Everyone was pleasant. Although I expected the staff to speak English better for hotel employees.

New ZealandRoom was small but we knew that on booking.
Hotel was all we needed for a two night stay to base ourselves for a quick day trip to Tokyo Disney Sea. Room was small but comfortable. Luggage can fit under the bed. Shower space small but functional. Eateries around the area, few ok Italian places too.

AustraliaWhile the concept of making rooms smaller and therefore better value for money is a good idea, it didn't work for us. Putting luggage under the bed then having to drag it out was a pain and my husband being 6 foot 3 struggled with the size. The rooms appeared bigger when I booked, so this was disappointing. My husband had previously lived in Japan for 10 years and is a fluent speaker. He recognises the attept at trying to explain to foregners what is "acceptable" in Japan. He felt it insulting for foreigners who are trying to do the right thing (my family of 7 were all attempting to speak Japanese when we could).
The location was close to the station and we were grateful for the late checkout and bag storage on the last day. The on screen information in each room was very informative. The rooms were clean.

Quieter town outside of Tokyo as expected. But so close to the train station which was wonderful.

CanadaIt’s not necessarily to provide new towels daily. This just causes a pile up of bags in an already small room and is environmentally unfriendly.

ChinaI do not like the way that the room keeper pur the relaceplacements everyday by hanging the bag on the handle of the door. It was not very eco-friendly as i may not need it everyday.
Locations was good, just 3 mins walk from Nishi-Funabashi station. And the breakfast was good here.

JapanI had a single room and room was hot. Can't change air conditioner setting to cool because of a touch-screen system, so just had to open the window. Other than that was fine.
Check-in was fairly smooth, room and bed was better than expected. Overall a nice hotel and close to the station!

ThailandThe hotel was great, but my room position was not very good. It was on the 2nd floor, directly above the restaurant. So from time to time there would be a whiff of food/cooking smell coming in. When I noticed this, I had already unpacked my luggage and had lots of stuff (was staying for 12-day business trip). By that time I did not want to repack and move the room again, so I did not notify the staff. I'm sure if I had asked, they would have put me in a different room. But then again, none of the rooms should have this problem if built/designed properly. Another small thing was that the housekeepers started to prepare their daily routine on the 2nd floor, and the room door was not completely soundproof. So around 8am, I could hear noises from outside. On some days that I wanted to sleep in to rest more, then the noise kept waking me up.
Very convenient location, close to Nishi-Funabashi station which is served by many train lines, allowing you to get around very easily. Many restaurants, izakayas, convenient stores, supermarkets, shops nearby. Room size was small - typical of this style of hotels in Japan, but their space usage design was good. Luggage can be stored under the bed. The bed was queen-sized even in a small room, comfortable mattress, duvet, and pillow. The TV was large and can cast YouTube directly & mirror phone screen. There is BBC 24h Channel for English TV. Bathroom was nice and clean, fully equipped with the renowned Japanese auto bidet, small-tub & shower. I also liked that the desk chair had wheels, easy to move around - little details that make life more easier in the small space. Room cleaning was every 3 days - fine by me (can request more if needed, but the default is every 3 days). The staff would still hang a bag of amenities & towels & yukata on the door daily. This was a very comfortable stay overall. There is also a vending machine, ice machine, and coin laundry (washer & dryer, 2 of each). Convenient for business travelers.
