Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MalaysiaA good location as it is close to Shinkansen station and walking distance to Peace Memorial. Room was small, space was tight. Suitcase opening is not possible, only on the bed. But overall value for money and comfortable.

AustraliaThe rooms are just too small for two people. Placing bags under bed and needing to lift out repeatedly is tiresome. Though small rooms are common in Japan, these were small by that standard. The machine check in was cumbersome and staff were there to guide, would have been much smoother if same staff had done check in.
Location and cleanliness.

GermanyIf it’s your first time in an APA hotel you might find it a little small.
It’s a typical APA hotel, meaning you get a lot of amenities and not a lot of space for a decent price. The hotel and room were very clean and modern. It is just a few minutes on foot from Hiroshima station. There is paid parking available on site, but for max. 48h.

United KingdomPublic bath can get busy with only 5-6 shower units & 4 seats in front of the vanity mirror. Public bath is small, comfortably sitting 5.
Friendly & helpful staff. Good location, 5 minutes walk from Shinkansen exit & lots of good food choices. Single rooms are compact/small, but very comfortable if limited luggage. Room is clean with comfortable bed, clean & fresh towels (if required), kettle, fridge, compact bathroom (small combined bath & shower) & large TV (on wall) with free films on demand & BBC News channel. Facilities include public baths(separate mens & womens) open to 01:00 with in-room TV screen providing live usage/crowding status; coin operated washer/dryers (laundry soap supplied) with security key-code locking; vending (drinks & ice cream) & ice machines & microwave oven.

New ZealandThe first time to use check in by machine with staff assistance, which is part of their plan, but fine.
The location was great, close to the station with restaurants close by. Did a bag drop so we could explore the city which was well organised. We found a bike rental shop a few streets away so that was convenient. Loved the public bath.

AustraliaNo slippers for big feet but that's not really such an issue. If your worried about walking the halls in bare feet then I suggest bringing your own.
What's not to like. Close to the station, very polite, helpful staff and a public bath. Rooms were compact but big enough not to feel crowded. Super clean and all the amenities you could need. We enjoyed the Onsen bath. Also you can see how busy the bath is on your TV, very cool. Bag drop-off and pickup was super easy as well. Microwave on the 2nd floor (I think) was very handy as was the ice maker and vending machine.

SingaporeWalkway was tight especially if you have plenty of Large sized Luggage. Stowage is under the bed and no dedicated area to unpack your clothes if that is important to travellers.
Comfortable and consistent in standards through all other APA hotel branches. Connected rooms was awesome. In-room TV movies available.

MalaysiaThe standard room with a double bed is a squeeze for two people (there’s wall space to hang your coat and clothes but doesn’t feel enough for two people). Consider who your travel companion is first before you book. I think even couples might want more space from each other 😅
First time experiencing APA Hotel after hearing a lot about their functional-but-tiny rooms. I don’t know if all the branches are like this but honestly this one was great. I was impressed by the ultra-modern setup (TV was equipped with a very in-depth hotel guide that even lets you check on the occupancy of the public bath and laundry room in real time). There were plenty of USB slots and wall sockets and there was also plenty of space underneath the bed to store your suitcase (including a storage box to store smaller bags). The bathroom is small but well-equipped with a shower that can actually be angled to your liking! We were lucky enough to get a connecting room which was basically two standard rooms with a connecting door. I can objectively say that one person to a room is very comfortable, probably the best you can get from a business hotel. If you’re travelling with another person and the price is right, I’d highly recommend going for the connecting room for double the space and bathrooms.
