Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

France-Check-in too late (3pm) -The rooms are really small but common for Japan. I recommend to travel light or carry small pieces of luggage so they can fit under the bed. -The breakfast is regular, western and local. Scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages and soups, fish, vegetables. -If you have tattoos, you need to cover them with a bandage that you have to buy in a 7 Eleven or ask exceptionally at the reception.
-Well-located near by 2 metro stations and 4 different lines heading main places(N, G. C and M) You can easily eat around. There are many local restaurants also kombini as 7 Eleven or Family Mart. -You can't check-in before 3pm but they can store your luggage if you arrive early. -Pyjamas and slippers are at every customer's disposal. -The restaurant staff is nice and professional. -We loved the public baths located at the upper level of the hotel. -Smoking area on the 2nd floor -Across the street, you can visit the Hie Shrine.

United KingdomWe couldn’t get the Air conditioning to work. But I’m sure if we had made further enquiries they would have helped. Breakfast food should be under or on a hot plate - cold scrambled eggs.
Very clean and efficient hotel. There was a good range of food for breakfast. Towels changed daily and staff very helpful

United StatesSpace was the only challenge! Everything else was excellent. We got the breakfast which was good but did not have as many great options.
The location is good since it is centrally located near several metro stations. The hotel is simple but clean and comfortable. The room sizes are small so should plan accordingly since there isn't as much space to open suitcases.

GermanyThe elevators were quite crowded at the breakfast/checkout-time. There is no stairs.
The room was really cozy although it was quite small. But once you get used to it, it was no problem at all. It's quite common in Tokyo. The staff was superfriendly and helpful. The breakfast was not luxurous but it had all we needed. The location of the hotel is great. Several metro stations in walking distance. Daily amenity-bags with towels, toiletry, coffe and tea were provided (for us it was much more than necessary cause we couldn't use the onsen anyway (because of tattoos, like mostly everywhere else in Japan).

ItalyNot all the staff spoke English and was a little bit difficult to communicate. Anyway all the staff was kind and available. We have been unlucky because when we wanted to eat at the restaurant there was an event and it was closed but we ate there the day after and was very good. Room cleaning was not performed everyday but just on demand and even after the cleaning the room was not super cleaned.
The room is quite small but in line with other Hotels in Tokyo. We really appreciated the onsen which was both indoor and outdoor (amazing and super relaxing). Good position, near some of the main attractions and next to the subway.

Loved the location, room had everything you needed. Breakfast was good once they could actually fit you in. Not enough seating for the amount of people, waiting in line one morning for close to 1/2 hour.

United KingdomThe bed and pillows were a bit uncomfortable, but overall for a 'tiny' room compared to normal rooms it was clean, tidy and well positioned.
The location was great. Good area and next to a subway station which was very convenient for strolling around Tokyo! After long days of walking in Tokyo, the onsen (open until 2am) was the best thing to relax and sleep straight after! You have to give it a try!

New ZealandWe enjoyed staying in Apa during our holiday in Tokyo. Metro line was just walking distance from our hotel, also the convenience store and ATM. We also availed the buffet breakfast which was suberb. The room was very compact and it is only good for families with a small child. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There is also a coin laundry on first floor which was super helpful for us. If ever we come back to Japan again, we would definitely be staying again in APA.☺️

United KingdomAs said previously, the regular double rooms are a bit small and cozy, especially the bathroom, for a guest of taller than average height.
The rooms are very comfortable, if a bit small and cozy, the facilities (vending machines, onsen, coffee machine, etc) are very convenient and easy to use, and the hotel itself is an extremely good location with three subway stations within walking distance (two of which are practically outside the front door of the building) with excellent connections to all the major districts and train stations of Tokyo (Ginza, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Oshiage, Tokyo Station, Ikebukuro).

United KingdomThe only thing that really could be improved is breakfast. It's only served between 0730 and 0930 (with last seating at 0900), and the number of people in the hotel mean that there are long queues to get in after about 0800 (and often still a long queue when seating finishes at 0900). They are also incredibly strict with the timings - I arrived for breakfast at 0900 exactly after an early morning visit to a shrine, and was told I could not be seated, and given a takeaway box instead. They also started to move people out of the restaurant at about 0910 saying that they needed to set up for lunch, so even if we had been there a few minutes earlier, we wouldn't have had much time to eat. For the number of guests in the hotel, I think it is important for them to expand the breakfast service time.
Check in was easy, and they kindly held our bags for us as we arrived in the morning. My mum had got locked out of her suitcase, and a gentleman came with a screwdriver and broke it open for us in about 2 minutes, they were so helpful! The rooms are clean and comfortable, and despite being on the small side, they contain everything that you'll need for a short stay. The bathrooms have lots of amenities provided and the shower is really nice and hot with good water pressure. The wifi is excellent, and there is a coffee machine and kettle provided (though this does take a while to heat up). Room cleaning is done every three days, but each day they drop an amenity package at your door with fresh towels and bits and pieces - which to be honest, I didn't really need, but it was a nice gesture. The variety of food at breakfast was great, though the timings are restrictive (see below). The location is very quiet but well connected, so it was good to have somewhere to refresh before going back out into Tokyo again.

United KingdomThe rooms are small, which made it difficult to move around and pack with two people, so this is something to consider.
Great location right by multiple metro lines and a couple of convenience stores. Hie Shrine is hidden behind the hotel, which made for a nice visit early in the morning. Spa/onsen was simple but did the job. The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful.

CanadaThe lobby is way too small. All the luggages are blocking the entrance and the front of the counter which makes it look so ugly. This property doesn’t have the onsen unlike other properties.
The room didn’t include the breakfast. I like the male receptionists more than the other locations. They are more efficient and fast service. The location is good close to the temple.

United StatesThe room was luxurious but towards smaller size, however, it was a useful, fully nice functional room with a bathroom plus a vanity. Store luggage underneath the bed to get the best use of the room. The included onsen feature on the 17th floor is very nice. If stay longer than 3 or 4 nights, a larger size room is recommended or enjoy Tokyo to the fullest and just sleep & get ready in the room and relax in the onsen.
