How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Space for rooms were inadequate. Requested for joining / connecting rooms, but didn't have any. Location was quiet and lack of facilities due to near govt depts.

The hotel was really well located, this helped with getting to locations quite quickly. The room was bigger than I expected and the daily cleaning helped with that. Just an overall good experience.

The room was incredibly small; there wasn't much room to fold open your suitcase; especially when you're together with someone else. Although the hotel provides towels, hairbrushes, etc; we found it was a little much that we received all that every single day. To take into account our earth, it would be nice if guests could hang a door hanger on the door if they need anything.
The bed was really comfortable and the accommodation was very clean. You can fit your suitcases under the bed and the wifi works really well.

Small space, also not super clean. It was clean enough, but there was some dust/dirt in corners, some parts of the carpet.
Great location, quiet neighbourhood, good connections to the metro. Room is cozy.

Loved how they cleaned the room every third day of my stay, regardless if you requested for room service or not. The room is very clean and has everything you will need. The staff is also super friendly and can converse well in English. The onsen/ spa at the top floor is absolutely a cherry on top during winter. The location is superb as it's right near the heart of Tokyo city (but super quiet as well which is awesome to get a good rest). Convenience stores are close by as well as the train station that can easily take you to popular areas such as Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza, Ueno etc.

The room is a bit too small. The breakfast is so so.
The location is great and the room has all necessary things, electric kettle, coffee machine, fridge etc. Very well arranged room. Nice view from my window. I love the spa on the top floor.

Every time you enter the room, the TV jumps on. Why?
The room is small but extremely well thought. Hooks everywhere, space for luggage under the bed... Many amenities. Tokyo is very expensive, but we found this good value for money

Nothing to complain about really.
Good location close to several subway lines. Rooms are small, but have everything you need. Suitcases can be stored under the bed. Onsen is very nice. Nice front desk staff, helping with every question and organizing luggage forwarding.

Limited variety for breakfast. Imagine eating the same food for 4 days in a row. More varieties needed. Hotel needs to be flexible on Check in/out timings and need not be too rigid on the fixed time provided for tourists.
Quiet location, train station in the proximity. Heavy police presence due to govt buildings hence secure. Cleanliness. Convenient for airport Limo.

The corridor is open air so it may be a little cold when you are outside. Room is small but it’s still ok for a single person. Kinda expected from Tokyo hotel.
Great onsen facilities, with a semi outdoor bath. Close to metro. I got a room just in front of Hie shrine so the view was great.

Check in. 6 staff to assist 6 guests to self check in. Why not just check you in themselves, instead of pointing to which button you should press next ? Rather unwelcoming after a long flight. Lacks a personal touch and achieves nothing. If there was only one member of staff to 6 guests I could comprehend it as a means of cutting costs.
Location was good. Close to a train line. Not too far to walk to restaurants in the evening. Whilst the rooms aren't cleaned everyday, fresh towels and coffee pods left on the door

Out of the 7 hotels I stayed in, in Japan during my two-week vacation, this hotel by far had the smallest room. It was so cramped even though it was a room for two. The carpet also didn't smell great.
Great location! The staff were nice and it was an easy check-in. Also great value for money. I think the best thing about this place was the location for me. It was in a very nice and quiet place in Tokyo. Very close to the train station.
