Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ThailandThe room is clean. The accommodation feels like home, and you make your own bed set. The location is good, with parking available and a minimart nearby, although there is no public transport. The shared bathroom is not a problem—you can use it privately, and the onsen is good.

GermanyAnnex and main building are not connected so you need to put on proper clothes and shoes to get from the annex to the baths in the main building.
I had a single room in the annex. It was very compact but comfortable. I used one of the two reservation-only (but free) baths and it was great after a day of biking in the cold. The dry curry for dinner as well as the sukiyaki for breakfast were exceptional. I was also a good value and I would stay here again for sure.

CanadaWe got a Japanese traditional room; with our larger luggage, it was a bit awkward to use with the futons laid out. Not a deal breaker, but something to watch out for.
Room was decently sized, with a cable you can pull out to the other side to hang up towels to dry. As noted in the negative bit, if you have larger luggage, once the futons were out, it might start getting a bit cramped. Food was pretty decent - we did not get the meal option, so we ended up eating the curry and basashi (horse meat sashimi) that was available. Seeing the dining room food, we kind of wish we had gotten a meal option! But you could also just go to the FamilyMart next door for quick and convenient options as well if you missed out and it was past dining time. Baths that were available for use were quite spacious and comfortable. Some required booking and others were first come first served.

United KingdomIt's located in the outskirts of the city so not very convenient without a car, have to rely on buses and trains or pay for taxis
This was much more comfortable than I expected. The room was small but all necessities were provided. Very clean and staff were friendly. There was a supermarket next door and a bus stop close by.

NetherlandsOnsens are pretty and private, but not warm enough for my taste and not with hot spring water.
Nice Ryokan, comfortable room especially for 2 people, with ryokan style beds. The curry they serve is very tasty, but the only thing they serve at dinner. However there is a familymarkt next door.

GermanyWhat was wonderful for us might incline the stay of others, the ryokan is a little secluded and you should have a care or await longer travel time by bus or train.
A wonderful but rustic ryokan, a little more of the trak of normal tourism. We had a wonderful two nights stay and enjoyed the experience sincerely. Ignore every post thatchers bath could be unclean. They are impeccable, everything you could mistake for a stain, is just mineral deposit naturally accuring in a thermal bath filled with vulcanic waters.

FinlandPillows were kind of uncomfortable. I didn’t ask if they had other types though, because we only stayed for one night.
Japanese style, clean and free reservation for multiple different types of private onsens. Very conviniently family mart is right next door (24/7). I loved the atmosphere here. A lot of places to park. The man at the desk spoke pretty good english.

IndonesiaThe room is relatively small, but it's enough for sleeping. Also, there was no soundproofing, which could be a problem if the neighbour is making a lot of noise. Also, there's a charge of around 400 yen/night if you bring an infant, which isn't described in the information.
The location is very convenient if you want to explore Mount Aso (Nakadake Crater and Kusasenri) and Cuddly Dominion. There is also a family mart nearby. The staff was good and helped me to call the taxi.

MalaysiaThe cafe was closed . Our second floor room didn’t have an attached bathroom/toilet. The common toilets were just outside our door. The bathroom/onsens were downstairs on the 1st floor. These were fairly minor issues but takes a little getting used to.
Conveniently located. The onsen facilities. Family Mart next door. Friendly staff. Plenty of restaurants within a ten minute drive.

MalaysiaThe best hotel we had on our Fufuoka trip, the room is excellent, above our expectations. Big, spacious, everything is clean and new. The location is good, just beside Family Mart, and just 5 mins away from the entrance to Mount Aso. I would like to give 6 stars if I can.
