Good place if you are solo or with friends. Set up like a hostel 3 showers, 6 sinks, 3 toilets. Rooms are ok and facility is worn but up kept. Host was very kind and will do laundry for ¥300 to wash and ¥300 to dry. Great location if you want the mountain experience and ease of access to the ski resort. Beware the place is older and needs a little love but overall a good spot.

It was a bit of a track to get to any bus stops to get us to the mountains but not too bad just a bit inconvenient

Bathrooms are downstairs making it inconvenient at night. It is about 10 minute walk from town.

Superb location - short walk to Echoland area and less than 20m from the shuttle bus stop (E-2 Line) that takes you to almost all the Hakuba ski resorts (excluding the furthest ones). Friendly hosts, cosy atmosphere, adequate heating, as well as good showers and toilets.

Staff uses translation app 100x per day. She was frequently sleeping on the couch in the common area. Staff did everything we asked for, like assisting with laundry. It just makes for an odd vibe.

No breakfast. You get what you pay for -- it's cheap and if you are on a budget this is a decent option.

We couldn't locate any teatowels in the shared kitchen space and didn't know how to dry the dishes after we had washed them up. Not sure if others had a similar experience, as when we went to use the bowls/plates in the drawer, it was still wet. In hindsight, we should have asked the host and sorted it out while we were there, as she was always quite responsive with anything raised.

The host was a wonderful, extremely friendly and kind lady, who didn't hesitate to go out of her way to help us out during our stay. Although we didn't ask for it directly, she saw our dilemma and her initiative and helpfulness was greatly appreciated!

I was disappointed by the address they sent me on mail/site , the actual address was different from the address of the real property. So it was dark at 18:00 and I was calling to the property owner, but they couldn't reply me. Finally, I asked the address with the neighbours.

Over all it was good. It was clean and the behaviour of the staff was very good. Although she used google translate to communicate but she managed everything very well.

We had the loveliest stay here, the room was super cosy and comfortable. The bathrooms were also very clean and the kitchen was well equipped if you want to cook! Really good location within walking distance of Echoland which was loads of great restaurants and bars. Highly recommend!

Incredible location, can walk to village and echoland, Cherry Pub and the Brownie Cottage Sauna is minutes away. Highly recommend staying and value for money, and the host is very welcoming, warm, and attentive. Host offers in-house clothes washing facilities for peace of mind, too. Out front parking, new bathrooms and wash room facilities, and very HOTTT showers. We stayed in room upstairs 202, huge for a couple, large chest of drawers, front view above front door and street, comfy bed, shelves, jacket and hanging facilities and the in room heater works very well. We made it home for 6 nights. We didn't use the kitchen and lounge facilities but they are on offer to want to truly make it a little home. I hope to visit again, and I will stay here again!!

When I asked about a double bed I was told there were both doubles and singles however upon arrival we were only give single beds as an option, so there was some miscommunication there.

Booked late and based on budget, unfortunately host spoke no English or Japanese, they could only communicate via translator app (spoke only Mandarin). The pension has dated from the pictures with lots of boxes piling up in the living area. Floors were a little threadbare and amenities worn.

Beds are comfy and the communal area was warm.
