Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We rejected n ask her to check with management. She insist management ask her to come up to check n we find her suspicious. We ignored her closed door. GermanyThe check-in process was a disaster, we unfortunately arrived exactly at 3pm when check-in opened and found a very long queue of other travellers waiting to check in. The "robot" check-in didn't work for overseas tourists, so an actual person had to keep helping everyone enter their passport details into the computer which kind of defeated the point of this being a robot hotel and took forever. The hotel had a very youth hostel vibe (which I suppose can be expected at that price) and it took forever to catch the elevator as there were constantly people with luggage coming an going and blocking the elevators. The breakfast, which was included in our rate, was served in an Indian restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel, which was ok. They served Indian dishes like Tikka Masala and naan bread (which I find a bit odd for breakfast) but also just plain toast, jam and cereals, which were good, but the whole restaurant smelled very strongly of Indian food which I find offputting first thing in the morning. We thought it would be fun to stay in a robot hotel but it honestly was not worth the hype and we wouldn't book this again.
We booked this hotel for 1 night just for the experience and were disappointed. The hotel is conveniently located near Asakusabashi Station but that isn't anywhere near the more popular district of Asakusa or the Tokyo Sky Tree. The value for money was ok though and the rooms were functional.

United KingdomTheir washing machine needs an upgrade. Their separate dryer doesn’t even dry clothes. Apart from that amazing staff and hotel.
Staff was amazing. They helped me send my 3 luggages to Kansai airport. The staff who I forgot to ask his name, took extra time to process the delivery he even went to our room to update us. He was so nice and really helpful.

IrelandThe room was the smallest I've been in for Japan, very cramped. Might work for one person but two people was a struggle. TV wasn't able to connect to Netflix, Youtube etc. The best was very uncomfortable, ultra firm, I was waking up from pain from sleeping on one side too long so I had to keep turning all night. Lack of staff caused issue in the evening with drunk violent guest, he was in the entrance and we had to wait until he was gone before entering the building.
The staff were helpful and stored our luggage for the day as we had a late flight. One stop away from Akihabara, there is a beautiful vegan cafe within 100m.

AustraliaWe booked a room for 2 adults and 2 kids ages 2yrs and 5yrs. They provided us with two pillow and two towels and refused to provide addition when we asked. The check in process is a nightmare with the robots. The male staff member was not friendly at all however the one female staff member we encountered was friendly enough. You can see that they do whatever they can to save money rather than service their guest so they will not get return custom based on this factor.
Location was great. Washer/dryer was also great although more expensive in comparison to other hotels we have stayed at in Tokyo.

FranceThe robots didn't work or were out of commission - which was the primary reason for coming. Not enough slots for storing luggage. All the automation was manually handled or assisted for checking in. Still a fun gimmick if they can get these things working right. It's neat to see.
Convenient to the metro, good Indian style breakfast. Quiet and comfortable.

NorwayI stayed for the robots, because I wanted to check out how they worked. Both receptionist robots are definitely within the uncanny valley, and they were not impressive when it came to their functions. They would respond when standing in front of them, but only within check-in time. When approaching for check-out they did not react, and it was only when inserting the room card into the automate that the robot would respond. I tried to ask it for help, ut no reaction. The hotel should consider replacing the human like robots with either more mechanical or cuter robots. Now it's just spooky. Human staff were available in the back office, and you call on them via a phone in the reception. The room was small and a bit worn. It is similar to rooms at other similar hotels such as APA and the like. Compared to these hotels, the price was too high. For the same price I would have gotten a better room at a higher standard hotel.
Close to the Asakusabashi station. Lots of bars and restos under and around the train tracks.
