Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyFor more than one night I honestly can't really recommend it. You have to pay extra for showering (200¥) and they have a unnecessarily complicated system with the keys. Also you don't really have a place for your luggage.
It's a good capsule hotel if you want to stay one night after partying in Shinjuku. It's directly in the heart of the district. Staff was friendly and you get free drinks.

JapanThe access via the lift/elevator was weird and really run down. It was quite hot at night.
I had large luggage, which they kept behind reception for me whilst I slept. Very clean, and great wifi connection. The receptionist was very nice and helped me in language barrier.

United KingdomThe beds could have been a little longer for taller guys. The beds in the women's dorms were very hot in winter and we couldn't seem to control the heating. There was nowhere to safely store luggage by the bed but everyone was fine to leave their cases outside their capsule in the corridor.
Clean, comfortable, great location, friendly staff. The booths had lots of room (although the tallest people might struggle). Added bonus was free drinks and ice cream!

JapanThe way the elevator is not accessible across floors and you need to come to reception for some services is a bit inconvenient. It's also inaccessible to people with health issues.
There's no breakfast, but place is surrounded with both cheapest options (like convenience stores) and restaurants that are still open.

United StatesThis place was pristine and orderly. They have rules and they expect you to follow them. Because of that, it runs like a well-oiled machine. You can be assured that you will have a mannerly, restful stay. I arrived a bit early, very tired, and the middle-aged gentleman, (I regret I did not get his name), said I must vacate and return at 12 noon. No problem, I respected the rule and did just that—I literally returned at 12 noon, on the dot, and was checked in promptly and efficiently, with said gentleman showing me the lay of the land in English, and translating any questions he had with Google translate. I suspect this is the gentleman that previous reviewers have said is curt, or rude, however, I offer an alternative view: He is disciplined, and orderly, and does not suffer fools. The place is incredibly efficient and spotless. I literally encountered somebody cleaning the bathroom half past midnight, (as well as other times throughout the days). Incredible! There is also a wealth of free reading material to enjoy. But honestly, it blew my mind how efficient and clean this place was and it suited my needs perfectly. I should address the showering system here: it’s great. They have solved a problem in a way no other budget accommodation has. For a mere 200 Yen you get a spotlessly clean, guaranteed shower with hot water and ample water pressure, and, total privacy. If you can’t shower within 30 minutes, you are wasting time and water both. They have engineered a way to alleviate dirty showers with endless hair and junk and other people’s clothes, shampoo bottles, etc., —returning dignity to the individual guest. The last thing I will comment on is what a spectacular good value this place is for Shinjuku, Tokyo. Great location, spotlessly clean, serious employees, and a tremendous value. I heartily recommend it to any respectful, prospective guests.

JapanThey don't have elevators inside the hotel facility. I just hope they could provide something that it would be easy to go up and down to your room. The shower procedure hope they only a lot 30 mins and have to go up and down for the key.
I like the lobby very much. They have free drinks, ice cream and very spacious are where you can read and do some work stuff those are the things I like. The capsule pods are very comfortable and spacious capsule for my size.

BrazilI didn't love that there was a shower fee.
I loved my stay. Although it’s right in the middle of a very loud area, the capsule is unbelievably quiet. The only noises I heard were of one or two people dragging their slippers down the corridor lol. The whole cafe is very beautiful and comfortable. The reception floor has places where you can work from, read mangas, and they even have free ice cream/coffee/soda machines. The women’s floor was quiet, comfortable, and clean. The staff is super nice. I would definitely stay again.
