Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyHad a brilliant 2 night stay. The hotel is very clean, bathroom and showers are modern and clean too. Location is right next to the train station and 15min away from the famous castle. Also some restaurants around the corner. Unfortunately no common space at all.

FinlandReally nice spot! Best part is the location it's right next to the Himeji station. There are great restaurants and night life around and the Himeji Castle is just a walk away. Place was quiet during the night and the shared spaces were really good and clean.

AustriaFor me the mattress was too hard and you have to expect not to sleep early because many people arrive late, this you will hear it through the curtain. They provide free earplugs, but if you have to get up at a fixed time in the morning you have the risk of not hearing the alarm with earplugs. But if you have no problem with noise till midnight and a harder mattress, it's a good and affordable place to stay.
It was my first time in a capsule hotel and it was fine. It was clean, the showers were also nice and clean and they provided everything you need. It was also surprisingly quiet but only later in the night.

AustraliaThe property is designed for the business person and provides a great work environment. We appreciated this. However we weren't able to talk in rooms or in the common room so it may not be suitable for families and groups. Also the mattresses were very thin. Otherwise really great facilities and super clean. And it is a capsule hotel. We stayed in a mixed room with four beds to ourselves in the door was not lockable but there are small safes in each capsule.

Great location, one minute from Himeji Station and easy walking distance to Himeji Castle. Fun to try a pod experience.

FranceThe access was slightly difficult to understand at first.
The solo "premium" room provided extra space and privacy for a small price difference. The location right next to the station and so close to the castle is unbeatable.

Germany- after checkout, luggage storage is only available with coin lockers and no access to a common area anymore, so if you have to wait for transportation it‘s a bit inconvenient - bit alert
- super close to Himeji Station (~ 2 mins walk) - very clean - spacious bathroom & powder room - comfy - nice Lounge on 6F

United StatesPlease be aware they will not allow you to store your luggage after you check out. I chose the hostel specifically so I could store my luggage and visit the castle without stress, but they would not accommodate me. They will let you store luggage before you check in, so if you want to visit Himeji without worrying about your bags, it’s a good idea to do it the day you arrive. (There are also coin lockers at the station for around 700 yen, but if you have very large luggage, they won’t fit.)
The property was very clean and well organized. It’s close to the train station/ castle, and I enjoyed the coworking space. It had a lot of value for a hostel of this price.

AustraliaThe only downsides was that the heater seemed to get very warm for myself who was on a top bunk/pod. the hot air came directly through the curtain, and the fan within my pod seemed to not have my strength but maybe that’s standard. the other thing was the headphones given to you were basically disintegrating (may have been the cover) so every time i touched them to move them it left a black residue everywhere
the best location, not even a minute to Himeji Station and multiple malls. great storage within the pod (see photo)

SwedenAgain, unfortunately, the matress was waaaay to thin for my taste and make it very difficult for me to sleep. However, this hotel is not the only one I experienced during my visit here in Japan with this kind of "problem," so it's not uniquely for this hotel. Other than that, nothing.
The location. A stone's throw away from the train station and 10 mins walk to Himeji Castle.

JerseyThis was our first experience of a Pod hotel, so perhaps our expectations were too high. The mattresses are incredibly thin, on the hard board bunk beds, making it very uncomfortable to sleep. We were a family of four in a private bunk room, there was very little space to store our luggage, once we were actually in the room and it was very tricky to open our cases to access our things. There was only one toilet near the selection of small private rooms which was tricky at night and the ladies shower facilities were accessed by going through reception, so not much privacy either late at night or early morning. It was also not possible to leave our luggage on check out, despite being told we could, through the messaging system, but lucky we found somewhere else nearby and paid to store our luggage, to finish exploring. Whilst the staff were polite, they were not nearly as friendly or helpful as all the other Japanese staff/ people we have met so far on our travels. It was a relief that we only stayed one night.
The facilities were really clean, the location incredible, very near the station and easy walk to Himeji Castle. There were also free drinks from the vending machines in Adoc on another floor, accessed with your room key. Another positive was that we were also able to drop our bags early before official check-in, leaving them in our private room.
