Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeThere is no dry room for snowboards and skis. This accommodation, while only 20mins away from Rusutsu and 45mins from Niseko, is probably not targeting ski holidaymakers and focuses on the Lake Toya tourists. I also didn't like that you had to take your shoes off at the hotel entrance, and they didn't have a seat for you to wear/take off your shoes. But hey, that's just me.
The view of Lake Toya from the room is amazing. Super value for money, especially since this hotel is only 10mins away from the main city centre. Ample parking space, great receptionists who helped us book dinners at restaurants in the city centre. Room was clean and big, and the bathroom was as big as the bedroom, also came with a bathtub. You can dry your shoes near the reception area.

SingaporeLocation. It is far from Toya town where most of the hotels, food and amenities are located. But if you drive, it is not a big problem as Toya town is about 15 mins away by car in winter. We loved it but if you are coming by public transport, you will hate it. You have been warned. Families and Couples who don't drive and don't want to ruin their vacation should not book this place.
View. The view of Lake Toya from the hotel was amazing in the sunrise and sunset. The view was also amazing when we had a snowstorm in the night and we had an amazing aerial view from the hotel. We booked the 2 biggest rooms and they are located at the 2 corners of the hotel. Coin laundry is available onsite. There are food and drinks vending machine outside but it's limited. Those who stay here are advised to eat out or buy their food and breakfast at nearby Seicomart, Lawson or Family Mart by car only.

SwitzerlandAs said, humid/damp air stayed in the room after showering.
It’s our 2nd stay here and it’s still a very good value option near Toyako/Rusutsu/Niseko if you have a car. Remote location but near Toyako Onsen town where you can eat at restaurants or find kombinis. We also went to Date for more sushi options. There is a communal space where you can heat up stuff in microwave. Room was large and confortable, yet a little humid as the bathroom fan was not doing its work properly.

Singaporeu have to remove shoes at hotel lobby. It was really inconvenient esp when u wearing winter boots and struggling with luggage to check in. Wifi was weak in our room as we were situated at far end of the building. We went to the lobby area and wifi there was much stronger.
Room was spacious, new and clean, Bed was comfortable. We had a nice view of Lake Toya

SingaporeNothing. I read a lot about this hotel, aware that its location might not be ideal for travellers without a car. However, I decided to go ahead and book it because of the stunning winter views it provides. The hotel does offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the JR station, but booking is required in advance.
The hotel offers an exclusive feel in a secluded area, but thankfully, there are vending machines for food and beverages right outside. It's also a short walk to Lake Hill Farm for dessert. Additionally, the staff were attentive to your every need.

ThailandThe night shift staff wasn't very helpful (the guy) Annoying bunch of loud Chinese tourists!! The vending machine is very limited. No convenient store nearby. There were 2 lovely ladies from China who stranded starving at the lobby. So, I have to give them a ride to the convenient store, which is quite far from the hotel.

Room has a great view down to the lake, with the big windows you can really enjoy and relax. As a bonus, the bathtub is also at the window, so you can take a bath with whirlpool function while looking down to the lake. The hotel is a bit away from everything, which makes it really quiet and a good place to have some rest!

SingaporeThe view of the lake from the bathtub was beautiful but we would have preferred to have the option of blinds or curtains for greater privacy.

Much better than I thought. The location is far, but if you have a car there is no problem. You can see Toya Lake view from your room, while in front of hotel, you can also see Mt.Yotei. Inside was modern and clean. The room size is larger than most hotels in Japan. Separate bathroom/toilet/sink like in China. Lounge with free drinks and massage chair. If it’s not dark too fast you can massage while looking at Mt.Yotei in the evening. (But I arrived when it’s nearly dark) In front of hotel still under renovation and the breakfast is seem to be in preparing process, so not yet breakfast during stays. If you’re hungry at night, there are some vending machine in front of hotel that have foods and drinks. Microwave on 2nd floor lounge. Can also buy cup ramen from the lobby, too. So no worry about the foods. Moreover, toothbrush provided here has the most smooth brush than most hotels in Japan, too!

SingaporeOnly downside is, there are small steps to the entrance of the resort. It would be perfect if there are a slope made for heavy luggage easy to slide up the slope. Luckily we got our rooms on first floor, there is no lift to second floor of the resort.

CanadaThe staff performed the minimum check in process without offering any introduction on where we are supposed to store our shoes while slippers were on display at the entrance. Also did not say anything about the breakfast area not to mention wearing a smile on their face. The location is quite remote and far from town center.
Free parking right at property. Spacious rooms with comfortable beds and sheets. Beautiful view from all five rooms we booked. Modern in room facilities. Breakfast area with free coffee for our group to gather and enjoy breakfast together.
