Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaIt is a love hotel after all, however the facilities was generally well maintained and cleaned. I didn't like how the windows had another layer of boarded cover which made the room feel like a prison cell, although you can open it to let some sunlight in, I'm guessing it's there to insulate the noise from the outside and for extra privacy. It is right beside the metro train tracks so you will hear trains pass by, however all the trains pretty much stop after midnight.
Excellent location right beside Ueno Park. Metro station right beside the hotel. Price was the most affordable double bed room in Tokyo that is not a capsule or a hostel.

SwitzerlandThe hotel is not exactly new so even though it's very well maintained, expect to see some imperfections here and there. The wifi is functional but nothing to brag about. The mattress of the bed was surprisingly hard. The hotel is very close to a station which is nice when you need to move but also not so nice if you consider you'll hear trains until the end of service (even with all windows closed, they reduce greatly the noise but not completely). I believe there are only smoking rooms which is cool if you smoke but means you'll have to deal with the smell if you don't (it quickly goes away after a few minutes with the window open or the AC but still it was there every day when I went back from outside).
First things first: 大人専用 means "Adult only". This is a love hotel, be warned. This being said, there is no actual reason to be afraid as long as you're an adult and you're staying with someone you're comfortable sharing your bed with (no matter what you do there. Or solo of course). It's a normal hotel if you stay for the night, you'll just get "specialized" amenities and VOD programs on top of the usual ones. The room was quite spacious! Probably one of the most spacious in this price range I've stayed in Japan. I was solo in the room and it was very comfy. It's extremely well located (less than 1mn of walk to get to the station). There is a minibar in the room but you can also get free (non-alcoholic) drinks and snacks on 1F. There's a daily room service, which is quite flexible due to the activities of the hotel. There is a japanese-style bathroom (wash sitting outside of the bath then go into the bath), and the bath has a very powerful jacuzzi built into it.

SingaporeI got a room that faces the train so it was rather noisy to my liking. Do also take note of the check in hours was 9pm when in my season as i was reading on all the comments before booking this. Really an old adult hotel imo. Cant really appreciate oldies and things feel used. Can't say much about cleaniness and things looks old.
Staff was very friendly, she even had a translator speech to help bridge the language barrier.

FinlandA little old, maybe in need of a slight renovation
It is, what is called, a love-hotels, hotel that can be rented by the hour but for us all night. Checking however is from 19.00 and checkout at 12 or 13.00hrs. lots of amenities, jacuzzi and even condoms are there as well as a drink dispenser at the rooms and free softdrinks, coffee and ice cream.

AustraliaIt wasn’t the best area right there, felt a little bit like the red light district, with lots of short stay hotels and pictures of girls. There weren’t the best restaurants right there, but a short walk to a lot.
It was fine. The place was clean, staff were lovely, and close to the train station so easy to get around, it was only a 10 minute walk to the national gallery and park, Ueno shopping precinct, Yanaka, and Senso-Ji. Lots of convenience stores.

PhilippinesIt's really hard to get rid of the cigarette smell in the room. I hope they can fix this.. Note: This is a love hotel, so you might feel awkward around the neighborhood, but overall, I would still come back here..
The location was 1 station away from Ueno and Nippori.. 1 min walk from Uguisudani sta. The room was spacious and we loved the bathtub with Jacuzzi.. There are free snacks and drinks, and free toiletries all available at the front desk.. They exceeded our expectations even this is a Love Hotel.

PhilippinesThere is a cigarette smoke smell in my room. I asked to be moved to a different room, but they said I would have to pay extra because they claimed that I did not request a non-smoking room. There is a staff member who is not very cordial. They asked if I wanted my room fixed and cleaned, but during my three nights, there was no cleaning done.
