Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe door system. You have to call the front desk in order to get in or out of your room.
Very specious bedroom and bathroom. It has a sofa and tea table. The bath tub water is soft water and it makes difference on your skin.

MalaysiaWe didn’t know that it’s a love hotel. I didn’t have time to read the review. Booking.com should indicate so family with children will not book into the hotel. We ordered our breakfast at 8am but was told that our breakfast can only get our breakfast at 10.30am. Then at 10am, we were told that our check out time is at 10am. we didn’t know we need to pre-booked our breakfast.
It’s clean. The room is big. Bathroom is very big. Room come with good breakfast.

IrelandWhile it was a spacious, clean & lovely bedroom, we did not get a key for the bedroom door & had to use a buzzer to get in, but later when we tried to leave the room the door was locked & we had to ring to get somebody to unlock the door, so we were literally locked into the room. There was also some suggestive leaflets on the table, videos of the same nature in the press. So I'm not sure if this should be on your app!! but it was very unsettling to be locked in. Check it out.

United KingdomIt's a love hotel, although this isn't clear on Booking.com and came as a surprise to me. You are required to call the front desk from your room every time you want to leave your room (the door locks automatically and can only be unlocked remotely by the staff). The same is true when you want to enter your room. This poses some real challenges for guests that don't speak Japanese like myself as the staff don't speak English. I had a bad experience where on the second to last day of my stay they refused to open the door until I paid for a meal I ordered to the room the previous night on the screen in the room (but I couldn't really understand due to them speaking in Japanese and the text on screen was in Japanese). However, paying inadvertently marked the room as being checked out, so then when I later tried to leave my room again they again refused to let me leave until I paid a 'late checkout fee'. After much to-and-fro on the phone (and getting hung up on!), I finally managed to communicate that they need to come to my room and explain what the charge was and why. Once they realised their mistake they erased the charge and let me out and I was able to continue my stay, but they made no apology and I was quite shaken up at the fact that I was basically held hostage! I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say this was probably just an unfortunate hiccup. It was a reasonably nice place to stay aside from the issue I encountered. But if you encounter an issue during your stay and you don't speak Japanese you will struggle to resolve it, so it's difficult for me to recommend this place to non-Japanese speakers.
The room, bed, bath, and TV were large and the free breakfast was good. They put me in a smoking room although I did not want that, but once I requested to change it they moved me. The non-smoking room did still smell a little bit smokey but not bad. There are free soft drinks and spirits on the first floor that guests can help themselves to.

JapanWhile this is technically a love hotel, it feels like a regular, clean, spacious hotel room. This location includes free parking, which is the main reason I selected it. It was very easy to access this location by car. However, if you are unfamiliar with love hotels, the process of entering and exiting your room is different from your average hotel. You will need to call the staff using a phone in your room or at the entrance of the hotel to have your door unlocked. You cannot enter and exit your room without this phone call. You also never see the staff face-to-face and you pay for your hotel stay using a screen in your room. If you dont mind this, then you can enjoy a spacious and comfortable room different from your average hotel.
