Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States"What is this, a room for ants?!" Shower seemed a bit old and dirty, and the whole space seemed a little dingy and claustrophobic.
It's difficult for me to come up with a rating for this place. It felt to me like Yaya was a former business hotel that was bought out and renovated to try and become something a bit more upscale... The room is absolutely tiny and if you have large luggage you will have difficulty placing and opening it inside. The window was small and frosted, making the space feel even more cramped. The shower seemed a bit dirty and old, but I think the intention here is that you're going to go bathe at Dogo Onsen. But whatever was lacking in the room was made up in the amenities -- the mikan juice on tap was a nice feature and we certainly drank our money's worth over the time we stayed here, and the breakfast buffet was excellent, with far more choices than I expected. You have a whole salad bar, hot food made to order, curries, hamburg, breads, soups, fish, fresh orange juice, coffee, etc etc etc. So, if you're staying in Matsuyama to visit Dogo and that's it, this place is a great place to be for a night. If you're visiting for a few days, I would go elsewhere, or see if they have larger rooms available.

MalaysiaDiscounted tickets to Dogo Onsen, which is only a few minutes walk from the hotel. Towel bar and orange on tap in the reception. Amenities bar includes face masks and mouthwash. Free supper of rice with dashi. Very clean hotel. You are required to remove your shoes before entering the room. Love the depth of the bathtub in the room.

AustraliaThe room was lovely with comfortable mattresess but it was very small.
DogoYaya was excellently located walking distance to the two main onsens in town. There is a delightful shopping strip which includes lovely restaurants nearby and heaps of parking on site if you are driving. The hotel itself had great staff who did their very best to speak to us in English. The have a nice resting space in the lobby where you can have tea and coffee and free champaign during happy hour on the evening. They also provided yukatas complete with tabi socks and shows for us all to wear when we went to the onsen.

United StatesI hope the kimono set was overlapping better. It's very pretty but we couldn't wear them because they would split when we walked and showed our legs.

Japanthe room was smaller than I expected but we just slept for 2 nights and most of time was we were out so that was enough! about the shower, it was more simple and easy one compared to Onsen- Yado(Japanese traditional style hotel)but most of guests who use this hotel take a bath at Dogo-Onsen and we olso did so that is also not a problem.
All the staff were amazing! We went to earlier cuz we wanted put our lagguage and they were so kind to us.Even if we din't checked-in on that they told us that we can have free orange juice. and you can have choose Towel every time you go Dogo-onsen to use it! So you can try which IMABARI TOWEL you like! that was amazing!

United StatesOur first night we had no neighbors so it was an absolutely perfect night of sleeping. The second night, the neighbors checked in at 11:30 pm. They made terrible noise through the wall even when speaking normally. Unfortunately their bathroom was next to our bed such that every time they would flush the toilet or run water it wakes you up, loud!
Fabulous location just a few minutes walking to onsens and shotengai, smoke free, great staff, perfect choice of breakfast selections, very nice beds, standard twin room includes toilet and shower and is not at all too small of a room. But the catch is if you have anyone in the room next to you…

NorwayThe air conditioning doesn’t work properly, so in my room (606) the air conditioner and humidifier had to be on if not the quality of the air was so poor without. And it was really loud.
It’s so central. And easy to navigate around. The staff is amazing and the breakfast is really good, you should try the toast and honey tea! The double room is big enough for one person :) (but really small)

AustraliaNothing negative to say
Dogo Yaya is exceptional as a mid- range hotel and deserves the many industry awards it has received. Staff are most welcoming and helpful in explaining the accommodation facilities and inclusions (morning breakfast and evening sea bream rice), also the discount ticketing for the three Dogo Onsen baths, available through the hotel, and complementary yukata, geta, towels, soap, etc. All has been considered for guests to have a relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable stay.
