The checkout time is VERY late (4PM), and no one is in the hotel before it to receive a bag. I was able to leave the bag in an unattended area by communicating with the owner via email, and because this is Japan (!), that's something I was comfortable doing, but it was a bit strange, and I wouldn't do this in most countries. The hotel is attached to a bar, and the bar doesn't open until late afternoon, so when the bar's not open, the hotel isn't really, either. Also, I was there in winter, and the common areas (and bathrooms) are unheated, which made things pretty uncomfortable outside of my room.

Couldn't be in a better location - it's less than 100m from the central train station, and on the main road of the town (it's also only a 10-minute walk to the beach, because Tanabe is a small town). The rooms are small, but clean, and for this price, it's a good value. The bar that the hotel is connected with is a very cool space to hang out in and have a drink or two (way nicer than anything else in town - a great vibe).

The host had excellent English, and we had the best chat. He opened the downstairs bar for us even though we were the only guests, and the beds were very comfortable. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The hotel in front of Tanabe Station has many restaurants around, which is convenient for travel. The rooms and public bathrooms are clean and tidy.

We were there when it was low season therefor it was not as lively as we expected it to be but for our short stay it was perfectly fine. So nothing to complain

We had an early departure as we were walking the Kumano Kodo. The location was perfect, the staff was very helpful and friendly with providing information for our hike, recommendations for dinner. It was a perfect place to stay for a night.

The lodgings were comfortable and pretty inexpensive so there's nothing not to like!

The location was perfect, just opposite the station. The room was clean and comfortable. Check-in was easy and the owner was able to advise how I could leave my bags there via Whatsapp.

Django location is very convenience, very close to train station and tanabe information office. I came back after my hike and i got same room as before. Comfy. They have washing machine and dryer, so you can do your laundry after hike. The staff is really nice and helpfull.
