Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaHad a strange air vent inside the capsule that wouldn’t close. Could potentially have a lot of dust and might be unhygienic

FranceThey keep the light in the capsule room switch on all night. You basically have this very white, hospital-kinda light all night long. Each capsule have curtains but there are not that thick so the light passes through a bit. They agree to switch them off a few nights but my request made them laugh, as if it was something weird for them. Even their picture was showing the lights off in the room … super annoying
Capsule were fine, location is great

United StatesThey no longer allow you to store your luggage for a few hours after check out. No common area or place to gather on same level you are sleeping on. Sleeping pad is not very thick or soft. Price paid was not a bargain but to be fair, it was a weekend night in Tokyo.
Location is near Shibuya station and Takishita street for the fashion district. Safe place to sleep and shower. Availability, even on a weekend and less cost than a hotel.

AustraliaLuggage room is so small you can't fit luggage in the lockers so everyone leaves there suitcases on shelves in the storage room. Nowhere to open your suitcase and get things out so people end up making heaps of noise and doing it in the capsule room. The capsules are outdated and not very clean feeling. Only a pull down blind as a door so noisy if people are coming in and out. They also lock the female dorms but it would make more sense not too so you don't get woken up with people fumbling keys all night long. Sauna on the top floor for women was really good

South KoreaOne thing I really couldn't stand was YOU NEED TO CHECK-OUT EVERY DAY BEFORE 10AM. No matter how many nights are you staying. You cannot stay in your bed nor in your shower room, you just need to move out with everything. The only thing you can keep during your stay is some stuff in your locker, but you can't even reach it during 10AM-2PM. There is no Do Not Disturb or exception. You just need to get out of the hostel every morning no matter what. I was not fully aware of this before I checked in, so the fault was on me as well, but as a night owl, it was so hard for me to have a pleasant start of the day during the trip. IF YOU ARE NOT AN EARLY BIRD, PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO BE SO EVERYDAY. Also, they don't have an elevator from the ground floor to 2F. And they have only one very small elevator from 2F-9F, so it is very crowded and takes forever during the busy hour to move from the shower floor to your bed or to lobby. Third, on one of the nights I was staying, the water in the shower didn't work for like 30mins. Everyone in the shower was shivering naked waiting for it to work again in the middle of taking a shower. Lastly, Some staff does not really speak English. (But everyone is kind and there to help you) Other than these, everything else was good, and if you have a different travel style from mine, I highly recommend this place!
Good location, Kind staff, Compact but comfortable and clean bed, Everything including pajamas, slippers, towels, amenities provided daily. Very reasonable price!

i liked that there was lockers and bathrooms on the same floor as the capsules. Everyday i received new towels and pyjamas

CanadaI don't like having to check out of our room everyday from 10am to 2pm. If I am staying for several nights and don't need my bed cleaned, why force your guests to leave for 4 hours everyday? What if I want to take a nap? What if I don't feel like going out that day? This is one of the most well-staffed hostels I have been to in Tokyo and yet, they are not very helpful or friendly. They don't smile, they barely speak to the guests, and when you ask them questions, they don't really try very hard to help. When I left, they didn't say bye or thank you. It just felt cold.
It was clean and everything ran quite well. I liked that they provided pajamas, towels and slippers in a nice mesh bag. And you get a new one for every night you stay there. I thought that was very thoughtful. And having an in-house sauna with large bathroom area was great. Also, it's very close to the train station so that makes it convenient for those wanting to go to Shinjuku or Shibuya or anywhere really.

JapanEspecially my cube was by the entrance door to my room, the noise from people passing through was bothering untill I felt asleep. Good pair of earplugs are needed. Also it was a bit overpriced as it's a capsule hotel, but I am aware of market price for an accommodation in Tokyo. Overall, it's a really good place to stay in Tokyo!
I liked the sauna and shower facility a lot. Soaps they have there are really nice.

New ZealandLights do not turn off at night, would recommend coming prepared with an eye mask. Limited toilet, shower, locker space, and elevator. The ventilation in the capsule/dorm was poor, was far too hot to go to sleep even in winter.

AustraliaThe lights in the hallways of the pods don’t turn off, to block this is sometimes hard, I always pack an extra towel to hang inside the pod to block out excess light. The signage is a little bit confusing when looking for the bathrooms, I did accidentally walk into the men’s bathroom when looking for the women’s and saw more than I would have wanted for 8am. The weird old tv boxes in the pods looks bad and you often hit your head if not paying attention.
Great location just out of the craziness of the city but right near the train station. Sauna is great and no one uses it before 10pm so you’re often all alone (women’s floor). Staff are accommodating with leaving your bags before and after check in/out. Capsules are comfortable, pjs provided, good storage.

United StatesThe rooms were a bit noisy and the lights don’t turn off at all throughout the night which kept me up a bit. Also the elevator is the only way to get from floor to floor and there are no stairs so often I had to wait a long time to get up to the showers/sauna, back down to the room, or to leave the property/check out.
I loved the sauna floor. This was such added value to the property. It was clean and had everything I needed. Bed was perfectly fine with a light, plug and fan.
