Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanI was traveling with my brother who is 6ft/181cm tall and he said that the accommodations were a bit small for him particularly the bed. My capsule was also a little run down but clean. It was a good stay, it’s on me for forgetting he is very tall (I am very short).
I loved the sauna and the location. It was also convenient that the breakfast was a Starbucks gift card, we used it to eat at the location in Shibuya which was super close by!

United KingdomThere are a few areas for improvement. First of all is the check out and recheck in everyday if you are staying multiple nights. This means that everyone is using the communal facilities and the locker room before 10am to check out, and you can’t access your belongings again until 2pm. The locker rooms are extremely narrow too so if 2 people are in there it’s chaos. The capsules themselves were fine except for a huge box that juts from the ceiling and has no purpose. The property needs another elevator or stairs that can be accessed without setting off the security system alarm. We waited over five minutes each time we needed the elevator and sometimes it would open and be full. This was especially frustrating before check out. The common area could also use more seating areas and a fridge to store food, as it is just benches and a few tables
The property was super clean and the saunas were great. Location was also good.

JapanThe locker space is a bit cramped, and having to check out every day at 10 can be difficult if you stay more days. It would be nice to use the showers and toilets at any time. Only having one elevator can also take a lot of time to get to your room and to the showers.
It is convenient as all capsule hotels are, the sauna was a fun experience and smells clean. The aesthetic of the place is pleasing and it was very clean.

United StatesThe directions on when to put on slippers needed to be clarified. It was obviously used near the sleeping area, but other than that, it needed to be clarified. I am leaving a 7/10 review because, unless I am mistaken, there are cameras in the shower area. This is a case where security (safety) has impeded privacy. Yes, the cameras are not pointing where people use the shower and sauna area, but it is very creepy! I saw many areas where a camera could be better placed.
Google Maps is essential for traveling in Japan! This hostel is in a very convenient location in Japan. I traveled alone, and this accommodation had a good environment. There were no issues with the shared bathroom. The area provides easy access to Shibuya, Tsutaya Books Daikan-yama, and many places in Tokyo. (The location offers easy access to the Hachiko Memorial Statue, Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, Meiji Jingu Shrine, Shibuya Sky, Shibuya Crossing, Milky Way Cafe, convenience stores, and more). I took the bus and the train and walked, but using Google Maps was easy! I just matched the bus number on the left side of the road and pressed the "stop" button when I wanted to get off. I only used public transportation because it was unnecessary to use anything else! Lastly, this hostel is for individuals who wish to travel most of the day and need somewhere to rest at night. There is a lounge, but I consider it a waste when there is so much to do! I also appreciated having a storage space to store my clothes and luggage! Interesting perks about the accommodation: - 24 Hour Reception - Free Towels - Lockers to store valuables and bags, and there is a storage room in the same place for storing luggage - Reasonable Check-In and Check-Out time - Friendly Staff - Common lounge (Used for eating and socializing) - Easy Checkout - Sauna available between 2 PM to 10 AM It's important to note that this hostel is not designed for long-term stays unless you are comfortable with the cleaning policy. The policy is clearly communicated multiple times to ensure there are no misunderstandings. Personally, I had no issues with this arrangement. It's crucial to emphasize this point to prevent any potential negative reviews based on a lack of attention to the displayed signs and print. The most unique aspect of this hostel is the Sauna. However, the hostel is a bit more expensive than others. Non-guests can use the Sauna for a fee.

CanadaOnly one elevator and the showers are on a different floor than the room, be ready to wait! The doors to the room/locker area are also pretty loud so definitely bring ear plugs
The hotel was right next to the Ebisu station which took us to most tourist attractions within 30min (via the JR line). The facilities were pretty basic but it definitely did the job, especially for the price. It's always really handy to stay in pod hotels where they give you towels, PJs, etc.

BelgiumNon-Japanese tourists were extremely loud during sleeping hours. Therefore the staff should firmly inform groups of guests to respect others, acknowledging that guests from around the world have diverse perspectives and practices regarding outings and accommodation use. Additionally, considering the building's layout, where the locker room and bedroom are connected, providing a separate entrance could be a solution for guests returning late.
Definitely the location and costs were great!!

CroatiaThe 10am-2 pm cleaning time when you're not allowed to access your capsule. Don't know if this is standard for all capsule hotels in Japan, but was a bit annoying. Maybe they should upgrade the lounge area when people are waiting for 2pm when they can access their capsule
