United Statescheck in time 4pm checkout 10am. if you return to your room before 4 pm the maid has it blocked off and you have to Waite till 4 pm to get into your room. crazy. Wi-Fi not very good. the room is very small even by Japanese standards but well laid out.

United StatesVery close to train station. (Exit out into the large open plaza and turn the corner to the right. You'll see the hotel ahead to the left.) Use the street car directly across the plaza in front of the train station to get to Kumamoto Castle. The room is small but clean and comfortable. The included breakfast buffet was Asian style and adequate. Other options exist at the train station. Overall, a typical, reasonably priced stay, convenient to transportation.

South KoreaThe location adjacent to Kumamoto Station really appealed to me as as I used Kumamoto as a central location for travelling by train each day to places such as Aso, Beppu, Nagasaki and Fukuoka. When I returned each day the Food Court in the adjacent Amu Plaza was open for dining until 23:00. For sightseeing, the major stop of the Kumamoto Shiden (tram/streetcar) is right outside the hotel.

As usual Toyoko Inn has decent sized twin rooms enough to accommodate a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. Rooms/interior is clean and cozy. Location is also nice, close to shopping malls etc. Parking is also available in case you travel by car.

ThailandVery long queue for check-in at the counter during peak time. Not many convenience stores nearby the hotel. Be sure to prepare your supply if you are often hungry at night.
Just a few steps from Kumamoto JR station to this hotel. Also, the car rental service is very close. The best choice if you wish to travel to Aso mountain the next day. I love the skincare set they provided (DHC brand). It's really nice! Their moisturizer revives my skin from the very cold and dry weather. Breakfast is a must! It is not much fancy. Just only the curry rice, 2-kinds of soup, bread and jam, and some Japanese side dishes. However, it's free! Combined with the room price. You can also bring the package if you have no time to sit in. It is worth every dollar you spend on the room price!

The staff are very helpful, especially the young man at the front desk who speaks English with an American twang. He deserves a heartfelt shoutout for his cheerful demeanor and helpfulness. We didn't get your name, but thank you very much for your enthusiastic assistance! Our room was on the 25th floor with great view of the city. It is small and a bit difficult to manouver with out luggage, but good enough for sound sleeps. The location is of course a major positive. Right next to the train station and a mall, car hire shops from Nissan and Toyota available nearby.

SingaporeInspite of the high traffic and automated checkin system, the hotel staff was on hand to assist guests.
The hotel staff were very professional and helpful. My rental car battery died and the staff assisted me to contact the rental car company. The location is excellent being next to the Kumamoto train station. The room had excellent view of the surrounds. The dining area at the lobby was available for guest use. Special thanks to the gentleman at the front office who spoke excellent English.
