How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Very friendly staff, breakfast was excellent and rooms were very clean, modern and quite large for Japanese standards.

Breakfast is typical Japanese - not easy for Europeans to find too many options to eat. Coffee is bad - no option for espresso. No option to order fried or soft eggs.
The place is clean and close to major attractions. Staff was polite and helpful. Rooms have washer and dryer - this was great.

I like these Tokyu STAY hotels. We stayed in one in Tokyo and we plan to stay in their Osaka location too. The rooms are exceptionally clean and the beds are very comfortable. The washing machine in the room was a bonus. In Kanazawa, the hotel is perfectly located. Three stops on the bus from the station and a hop, skip and a jump to the Oyama shrine and Omicho market. Plenty of eateries around too.

Lovely hotel right on the main road and at a walkable distance from all places one would want to go to. The breakfast had good options and the staff were very warm and friendly. Having a washing machine (along with detergent) in the room was very helpful since we came to Kanazawa in the middle of a 2 week trip and had lots of clothes to wash.

We tried to use the washer/drier but it was more complicated than the instructions indicated.
The hotel was very well equipped and very handy to the city centre. It is located 5 minutes by bus from the main train station with a bus stop right in front of the hotel which makes it easy to get to.

The hotel is only a short walk away from Kanazawa Castle and the famous Omicho market. We were pleased with the modern facilities and the washer/dryer combo in the room. Breakfast was great, and all of the staff was friendly. It was nice to find an amenity bar in the hallway near the elevator.

The breakfast is not the best. The AC stop when you leave the room during the day so when you come back it can be really hot
Good location near Kanazawa castle Park! Not too far from the station if you take the bus. Really convenient to have a wash in machine/dryer The bed is comfortable but the pillow are a little too hard. The room space is great. You can turn the AC on and off. If you are lucky with your room you can see the sunset from your window.

Nothing we disliked
Our room was very comfortable, a good size and super clean. It was fantastic having a washer/dryer in our room. The location was amazing and within walking distance to many tourist attractions. Kanazawa Train Station was a 30-minute steady walk away from the hotel which was so convenient. Kanazawa was one of our favourite places that we visited during our three week vacation in Japan and we will cherish all the happy memories especially as the accommodation was the "icing on the cake". Bought breakfast elsewhere (7-Eleven and Family Mart).

No real complaints, the room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Room wasn't huge, but it was what we expected.
The breakfast was quite good, was pleased to get some fresh fruit, though the quantity could have been larger, rather than placing on a standard dinner plate, perhaps a larger plater. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful.
