Great location if you are going to visit Zenkoji temple and Nagano museums. The staff Hara san is very helpful to advise nice restaurants and tourist spots near Nagano.

Located on a quiet side street near Zenkoji Temple with great access to amenities and transportation. Many food and coffee/breakfast options nearby, and Nao is a great host and quick to recommend stuff in the area.

I was surprised that there was only one toilet. It wasn't a problem because the hostel wasn't full, but if there were many people, it could be awkward.

Comfortable and clean rooms, good kitchen facilities and a spacious shared sitting area.

Good hostel, very comfortable and has everything you need. Kitchen is great, beds were comfortable and spacious. Location is great too in the upper part of town. Would stay here again!

Only thing I didn’t like about it would be that I already filled my arrival time in booking.com but they didn’t know about it, I don’t know if it was the fault of the hotel for not checking or from booking.com side. I hope they would communicate prior to their customers and they could arrange some alternative for their early arrival, would be really helpful.

It was clean and many amenities were provided and I like how everyone was very considerate and didn’t make much noise. And the place is even close to bus stand and zenkoji temple.

The floor/window in the room were a little noisy, but it is a reasonable trade off with the traditional style of the building.

Nice traditional feel in a quiet area. I was only able to stay one night, but I will definetly go back if I have the chance.

Perfect location right in the heart of Nagano, friendliest staff, home-like atmosphere, old house with 120 years of history, very clean and nice. Don't expect modern hi-tech here.

It was very easy to hear people in the dorm next to my room, and the hallway light shone quite brightly in through - easy enough to put earbuds in though, and still great value for money

Friendly welcome and Nao was very helpful with ideas on what things there were to do in the area and helped look up further information on opening hours, etc. The location is great - close to the temple to reach for early morning service, and there's a bus stop just around the corner to Togakushi Park and the train station if you don't want to walk. The bed was very comfy, and the common areas were clean with everything you would need

The area around the bed could have been a little cleaner. It's a little difficult to get around if you're tall but nothing to worry about. Just mind your head! Also, the lockers are located in the kitchen on the first floor away from the bedrooms which is something to remember to save going back and forth.

This is a lovely place. It feels very traditional. The owner is friendly and accommodating. The beds are bunk beds and pretty comfy. The shower and toilet facilities are fine. They are located on the first floor. For the price, it is great value for money and I would stay here again. It is located a little far from Nagano station (20/25 min walk) but perfectly located to visit zenko-ji and the neighbouring streets.

Beds were a bit hot in the summer with curtains around the bed trapping heat. But for the price, absolutely fine!

It is a great hostel to stay in Nagano: its a very traditional house, but very clean and has everything you need. The common area is nice to socialise with other guests. The location is not to far from the station and very close to the temple.

It would have been nice if there were large lockable cabinets for luggage.

The hostel is located about 25 minutes walk from the station and three minutes from Zenko-ji Temple. The staff was very friendly. I was given a map showing points such as supermarkets and onsen nearby. The check in went without a hitch. The room and the other rooms were clean. In the room, the beds each had curtains.
