Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ChinaBe ready to carry your bags up to the second floor through a narrow stairway.
Room was clean and location is just across from the beach. Room is not too big, but just enough space to be comfortable with all our bags.

SingaporeNothing we did not like. We left our big cases downstairs and could just carry our small carry-on up the steep steps. I think one chair would have been sufficient A microwave would be nice to warm up drinks or food if guests are staying a bit longer.
A great place to stay by the sea. The bus stop was nearby.but you could walk to Kamakura station. The bathroom was very spacious. Our favourite bath in the places we have stayed! Plenty of toiletries. Guide leaflets for the area is helpful. Kettle and fridge provided with complimentary water and tea sachets Air purifier/fan provided as well as air on. I liked the Muji floral room diffuser- it smelt like a spa. The beach is a minute away. You can see a bit of Mount Fuji !!

United StatesThe controls of the bath shower are not intuitive and the electronic instructions for temperature, etc. are all in Japanese. It would benefit non-Japanese speakers if the owner could supply English-language instructions. The water in my showers was only luke-warm and I couldn't figure out how to increase the temperature.
It is a comfortable unit in a great location. Although entry was via an e-mailed key code, the owner met me on arrival and made sure I could get in. The unit has a shower in the entry hall that is convenient when coming from the beach.

AustraliaIt was very bright in the room with no curtain so it woke my toddler up very early but this is common for Japan and other than that we loved it.
The beds were comfy, the bathroom was huge, we loved the entrance area for washing your sandy feet and it was so close to the beach. We were very appreciative to be allowed to check in a little early also.

New ZealandThe stairs are steep and Mum (in her 70’s) found them rather daunting. We found it easier also to leave our luggage downstairs which was a little awkward. .
We enjoyed our stay at Jade and would have liked to have stayed longer. We liked the proximity to the beach and also the walk into town was interesting and enjoyable. We found it comfortable and had everything we needed.

United KingdomSteep stairs. Older visitors would find it difficult to get cases up the stairs. Perhaps advise of this at booking and offer the ground level flat. Only 1 pillow each. Mattress could have been softer.
Everything was new. Host was very helpful with getting a taxi. Spoke good English which was handy.

New ZealandAs others have mentioned, the stairs are rather steep and a person might bump their head.
The location really is one minute from the beach and there are coffee shops for breakfast close by. The bathroom is spacious with a great bath and the streaming option on the TV was an excellent bonus. Someone checked in on us in the early evening which was really good of him. It's about a fifteen minute walk to town so quite close to night life but also an option for a quiet stay.

United StatesIt wasn’t a problem for me but the stairway to the second level might be a problem for those traveling with large luggage as the stairs were on the narrow side.
I liked the quiet neighborhood but still had restaurants nearby as well as the beach. We used the bus to get around Kamakura. The bus stop was very close. Also the host was very responsive to any questions I had. Finally, I appreciated the binder with restaurant recommendations and other information that I might need.

United StatesThere was nothing I didn’t like! I’m a realtor from Denver, Colorado and maybe a little bit of a real estate snob. This place lives like a little hotel room but I’m a solo traveler and I thought it was perfect! You’re literally on the beach in 60 seconds and because I like to walk, I enjoyed the 15-20 walk to Kamakura station where all the awesome shopping & restaurants are located. I ate dinner there and enjoyed the quiet little walk back to this cute little beach pad!
it’s like 2 min to the beach and leas than a 20 min walk to Kamakura station!
