Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe good: - very spacious room - bit old fashioned but interesting style - excellent public bath: 3 pools and a sauna - fantastic variety on breakfast, loved the omelette stand! - amazing area, the Fuji mountain was breathtaking and superbly close - loved the panoramic view rooms at the top level! Great idea The bad: - staff seemed to struggle with English a bit - bathroom was very low height wise for me personally as I am 190cm

AustraliaLocation is a bit secluded but given the beautiful spot of the hotel it is understandable. You can walk around the hotel and enjoy the amazing view and surroundings
Fuji View Hotel is a huge hotel with breathtaking views of the lake and Mt. Fuji. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see Mt. Fuji from the hotel as we were out on a tour when we finally caught a glimpse, if you will be staying in a Fuji View room would definitely be an incredible experience. It was fully booked during our visit so we chose a twin room with lake view. The hotel is surrounded by cherry blossom trees, which weren’t blooming yet during our stay, but I can only imagine how beautiful it would be in full bloom. The hotel’s ambience is wonderful, especially the downstairs area overlooking the garden—it’s so peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast was great, offering a wide variety of Western and Japanese options. The staff were all very kind and helpful. Our twin room with a lake view was spacious and absolutely stunning. Waking up to foggy mountains and the serene lake every morning was a breathtaking experience. Because the hotel is large, it is a bit farther from restaurants and convenience stores. There is one about a 5–10 minute walk away, but we usually took a taxi to the center, where supermarkets and restaurants are, which costs around 1,600 yen one way. The staff were happy to call a taxi for us whenever needed. The hotel also offers a shuttle bus from Kawaguchiko Station, which was very convenient. Just be sure to arrive at the pickup location on time, as the shuttle arrives on schedule and leaves almost immediately. Overall, our stay was amazing, and I would highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful and scenic getaway! PS~ They also have a viewing deck at level 6 where you can see unobstructed views of Mt Fuji if you’re lucky ;)

United KingdomThere wasn’t really anything else around the hotel. No restaurants or anything nearby so you do need to go out into the main town.
The staff were so helpful, let us check in slightly earlier without charge. The shuttle bus to and from the station was so convenient and the driver even waited for us at night which was so kind! We only stayed for one night, the first day was really cloudy so we didn’t get the view of Fuji. But the next morning we woke up to the most amazing view. We booked the traditional style room and it was really cool to experience.

SingaporeI wasn’t lucky enough to have a room with the Fuji view but i could see it from the lift area and from the hotel. Only half the rooms face fuji, nevertheless my room still had a great Japan alps view
Onsen was excellent, room is fairly large for Japan standards and service staff were exceptionally friendly from check in to housekeeping

AustraliaThe view from the room was AMAZING! the mountain was right there... There were nice walks to do nearby along the lake. WE opted not to have dinner at the hotel, but breakfast was included and amazing! We loved the little robot which took the dirty dishes away back to the kitchen! We were so lucky with the weather! Blue bird day!

United StatesLocation is pretty far from the station and the central areas. Far from famous Pagoda. Finding transportation to and from hotel for day activities is a headache if you don’t have a car.
Bikes for rent, recommend renting bikes and going behind the hotel around the lake! Free shuttles to and from station every hour. Onsen was very clean and comfortable. Top floor panoramic viewing area of Mt, Fuji was awesome!!

JapanOn the downside, without a car, dining options outside the hotel are very limited, and the building itself, while well-kept, is not new. However, overall, the experience was great and highly recommended
The hotel boasts a fantastic location with stunning views of Mount Fuji, visible from the restaurant, lobby, and various spots around the property—a real treat, especially on clear days. Though the hotel is old, it has been beautifully renovated and well-maintained. The staff is exceptionally kind and helpful, making the stay even more pleasant. A highlight was the kaiseki-style dinner, which was truly outstanding, and the onsen was wonderful. The room was spacious with a breathtaking lake view, especially from the 5th floor.
