How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

A bit overpriced for what you get in my opinion.
Very nice space, I loved the concept. The common spaces are always super clean. Location is ok, not right in the center but super close to the bus stop. The staff is super nice :)

The staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable. The rooms and the facilities were very clean and comfortable - and - everything worked (nothing was in disrepair).

Loved it there! Really super sweet and helpful staff! They will do their very best to make you feel at home! Hostle with a cool Vibe! Would love to come again! Kitchen for use, nice common room, bus stop around the corner, bicycles to rent and when you are lucky the owner will offer yoga classes! Thank you so much FujitayaBnB Team!!!!

Somewhat far from the main attractions of Kyoto, unless you bike or take the bus.
This BnB was very charming, clean and most importantly, affordable with a bunch of extra nifty features. Renting out ON shoes and bikes was a great way to explore Kyoto.

Nothing bad really. Heating worked a treat. We knew beforehand about the shared bathrooms and communal seating areas so that was ok. Bed was comfy. Showers were good.
Great value room in kyoto. Bnb in the title a bit misleading for us Europeans if you don't look further into it. It's not bed and breakfast! It's a doable walk from 2 local train stations and the buses are dirt cheap! Buses stop almost at the door.

Everything was good!
Instantly felt welcomed, nice interior, helpful staff and a lot of things you can use like board games or the kitchen (with stuff like oil, salt, etc). We also enjoyed the Sentou a lot, which was just a few minutes by foot.

there was no cutlery available
the person in charge was very nice, everything was very clean and it was not noisy! the room is small and not very cocooning but it is enough to spend a few nights there! the parking space is 1000y per day in addition and you have 3 spaces available.

The distance from the train station was not really close, we had to walk a lot of blocks with baggage. If you take a cab, then this is the perfect place for you to stay.

Fujitaya BnB provides a truly warm environment. The lovely owners and staff, as well the shared spaces and kitchen amenities create a wonderful atmosphere for families, solo travelers and groups of friends to enjoy a healthy community. It is also a very clean and cozy air bnb with basic amenities in rooms and shared bathrooms. Remember to bring your own toothbrush and. toothpaste, plus slippers. Some group activities are provided occasionally, as well such as the Takoyaki party we enjoyed on my first evening, and yet when alone time is desired, it is honored. I enjoyed myself so much that I extended my stay by two more days! Thank you SO MUCH Fujitaya BnB 💞☺️

This location required quite a bit of walking a few miles at a time to get places but of course buses/trains can also be opted for!
The space was clean, comfortable, and cozy! There were very thoughtful touches and details throughout that made us feel at home.

We really loved our stay here! <3 It was the coziest place during our japan stay. We like to wander around by walking so we think that it was in a perfect place, you could easily walk to the train station / shops / etc. We really loved the staff there, they were so nice and made us feel so welcome. For people with back problems, the futons are not the best (just personal situation), but in general the room was ok.
Nice and clean shared spaces. Good space in private rooms. good connection with bus stops.

The room was a bit basic. Maybe some storage space for clothes would help rather than live out of suitcase/backpack. Not a big deal though.
Very friendly and helpful staff. There is a full kitchen so you could self-cater here. They hosted a sushi making and sake tasting session for a small extra charge, which was a great way to mix and mingle. There was also the option to rent bikes but we didn't get round to that.
