Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe hotel feel and style were very fancy, well above the standard that we're used to. Not many of the staff could speak or understand english and we felt very overwhelmed and like outliers when comparing to the other guests. Definitely a more top tier hotel, not sure it suits those on a tighter budget or those with little Japanese language skills. We also struggled to make dinner reservations and couldn't muster the courage to use the Onsen as we felt so out of place. The hotel exceeded our expectations in all the wrong ways, just in the way of not being a foreigner friendly and very traditional style property.
Stayed in Japanese style room, it was beyond our expectations. Room layout was amazing and the view we had was spectacular. Was fun to experience sleeping on Tatami floors on futon, and we had a major bonus with thunderstorms and rain both nights of our stay.

JapanWe booked 1 Japanese room and 1 western style room - the facilities in both rooms looked and smelt old (probably since 50 years back), especially when compared with the fancy lobby and restaurant of the hotel Some of the room facilities are updated but not everything e.g. you get a bedside table that controls TV and speaker but you have no idea how to use as it probably comes from the 70s, instead you don't find sokets near the bed which was stressful
Good access to the Stone Steps, nice lobby and reataurant

MalaysiaThe open air bath for woman was closed for refurbish, so we only manage to use the indoor bath, we were wrongly informed by a lady staff that it is alternate use for man and woman, we went to the man on 2nd nite and was shock to see man in there, and rushed to the reception to confirm the matter, but unfortunately, it seems like they only have 1 English speaking staff who happened to gave us the wrong info. 😏 Breakfast time was informed until 930am, we woke up bit late anwas rushing , but actually we can dine until 10am. They should inform last call or kitchen close at 930am but we can dine until 10am..its a holiday after all, we can all sleep in a little later.
The room is spacious and clean, bed is nice, the free flow refreshment at the lobby is nice, have variety teas to try on Also, breakfast food choice was not bad , just no Emglish label 😅.

United StatesNothing. The hotel was perfect. The price was very reasonable.
This is a traditional Japanese hotel in a cute off the beaten path town. The bed, table and chairs were low to the floor. Fortunately they had a sofa as well. The room was huge, the location was close to all the touristy attractions. The people were friendly. We were very pleasantly surprised.

IndiaIt’s very old and the room was smelling like sweat. I’m not sure if they air out the rooms or if the duvets are cleaned regularly. Also the acs are close to the window verandah and doesn’t cool the room properly.
It was located at the top of the Ikaho Onsen steps. It has many vending machines and a large property. The staff are super super helpful and very understanding / accommodating.
